the resort is anything one wants in a relaxing mini get away.We had a corner King with a fire place a nd a jacuzzi. It was a very spacious room overlooking mountains, marina and water. In addition ,the restaurant at the inn serves wonderful meals. It is even a better deal since you can order a light fare at less cost, and believe me,it is enough food for one person. The rate could not have been better for such lavish accommodations. We higly recommend this place to anyone who is in the area.

My husband and I come here to escape the craziness of Seattle, do some golfing and just relax. It's a fantastic place with comfy northwest feel rooms and great views of the marina. They serve a wonderful continental breakfast that you can enjoy on the patio outside next to the marina.

If you come you also need to head to the Ajax Cafe just up the road toward Port Townsend about 15 min. The cafe is in an old home with pine wood flooring and windows throughout. The walls are lined with old music posters, the plates and silverware don't match and expect your beer to come in a mason jar but also expect a dinner that would rival any restaurant in Seattle. Ask for directions to the restaurant. It may be hard to find to keep the locals tuned to a good thing and be sure and pick a hat on the way to your table!

The inn is not quite as well appointed as the Inn at Langley but worth it!

We recently spent Thanksgiving at the Resort at Ludlow Bay (which used to be called the Heron Bay Inn or something by that name). In it's earlier incarnation it was operated by the group that runs the Inn at Langley (GREAT), the Inn at Deer Harbor (VERY GOOD) and the Friday Harbor House (have not stayed there). The rooms have a very similar layout to the other aforementioned Inns that we have stayed at. The only difference is in the motif. While the Inn at Lanley and Deer Harbor both sport a modern Pacific Northwest decor (dark woods, understated colors, etc.) the Resort at Port Ludlow is far more colorful. The lobby/check-in area is tastefully done in the NW dark wood design, but the rooms have an almost B&B resort type feel to it (salmon tile in the bathroom, white/black checkerboard tile around the fireplace). While it may be better suited for some, including the retirement community type that predominately purchase property in the development, we prefer the latter. The room did have a nice view of the marina, however if you look at their website it looks like there are no non-waterview rooms. There are. The non-marina side of the building was open to the Hood Canal, however in the past year they have begun to build houses along the water. The houses are tastefully done, but you definitely don't want a room facing that side. The rooms itself are very comfortable, with a gas fireplace, jacuzzi tub that opens to the room and big windows. Service in the dinning/bar areas was not great, but that is not from a lack of effort. Very nice employees. The resort is a notch below the Inn at Langly, the bed, seating, desk, small TV, etc. are not up to par with the aforementioned Inns, but nonetheless present a relaxing, quiet, very clean and beautiful place to stay. Every stay includes a continental breakfast and free parking. We got a great rate from their website and added a day at an even better rate by talking to their reservation agent. Overall, the resort is a great alternative to the sometimes kitschy (sp?) B&Bs that populate nearby (20 minutes) Port Townsend. It is an easy drive there and a great place to visit. It makes for a good alternative to the Islands and overall we enjoyed our stay.
