The Bishop is a 19th century building that has been renovated. The renovation was done with quality fixtures with attention to detail. Everything you will need is provided. The staff is very friendly and helpful. If you are stuck on the Hyatt or equivalent you probably won't like the Bishop but if you are up for something different give it a whirl.

My mom and I stayed at the Bishop for three nights. It was our first trip to Port Townsend and we found the Bishop to be the perfect spot for us. It was clean, cosy and comfortable and the staff were helpful and friendly. We appreciated the puzzles provided in the main lobby and and had fun spending our evenings there, puzzling and chatting with the staff.

We originally had only planned to stay for two nights but we were enjoying our stay so much that we stayed an extra night. The hotel was able to accomodate us and although the last night was spent on a sofa bed, I have to say it was the most comfortable sofa bed I have ever slept on. I actually slept which has never been the case on any other sofa bed I have slept on.
We hope to return to Port Townsend one day and we will most certainly stay at the Bishop when we do.

No other hotel in Port Townsend captures the feel of the city like the Bishop Victorian. Not only is it friendly, cozy and comfortable (and immaculately clean!), it's got the look and vibe of the old Northwest. Two thumbs up!

The location was great, centrally located and close to the stairs that lead to uptown. The staff were nice and friendly. We stayed in room 16, a 2BR Suite, the room was very outdated and the furniture was very old. It was pricey for what you got.

There are some kinds of charm that just can't be faked. This is a true Victorian hotel, and our accommodations were just lovely. We stayed in #18; this was especially nice, because it gave us the extra air circulation of a corner room (no air conditioning, not an issue for us). We didn't mind the stairs, but folks with health concerns should request a room on the lower floor. Port Townsend is fun, quirky, and beautiful! And the Bishop is a perfect fit!

Room Tip: Corner suite was lovely!

stayed in room 11
which was one of the "dog friendly" room
Decor was tired and sad
sheets were rough
decor felt like you were staying at grandma's house rather than charming turn of the century.

great location and very quiet still, we couldn't wait to check out

Our drive from Cannon Beach took a little longer than expected and we arrived early evening with no reservation. The staff were very friendly. It was a Wednesday in May so we were lucky to find two choices of rooms available. We chose the King suite on the 3rd floor - #18 - and it was very large and beautifully decorated (the stairs are wide and grand). The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet. There are wonderful sitting areas on every floor with fresh coffee and tea available. Movies and popcorn were free. Fireplace was cozy. Breakfast is delivered to the door at 7 or 9 and was more than enough to get us going for a day walking the beach and exploring Fort Worden as well as the many shops and restaurants. We had planned to stay only one night but quickly decided we had to stay for two. We ate at all of the recommended restaurants and all were very good. The food at Alchemy Bistro (and the wine) were extra special. The ferry was very convenient as we were headed home to Canada. Would definitely stay at the Bishop Victorian again.
