Wonderful old Victorian house that is converted into a hotel. Totally fun and well worth the money to spend the night. The only problem was using the bathroom which was down the hall. The keys were old too, but it just added to the atmosphere! I had a good time and want to go again.

Room Tip: Ask for the couple special ($99 plus drinks)

The castle is historic and worthy of praise; however, some facts need to be made clear.
There are 15 steps to get from your car up to the lobby, and another 25 steps to the rooms on the second floor. We were on the 3rd floor with another 30 steps. Carrying your luggage up 65 steps is not a task for the weak. If you have bad knees or a bad heart, this hotel (and all other 2nd and or 3rd floor hotels in Port Townsend) are not for you. We were told there was an old elevator, but the staff would have to operate it for us. We opened the door to our room to find a bed, a light on a bed stand (too dim for reading), a chair and a small tv. There was enough room to get around the bed. This was adequate for the monastery but not for today's travelers who are used to more space in their room. The doors to all rooms had glass windows and had open space at the bottoms which made the rooms quasi-private. Conversations in the room could be heard by anybody in the hallway outside the door....or down the hall a little. The staff was friendly. The food at the restaurant was excellent. We moved to a different hotel to get a larger room, but we came back to eat at the Manresa Castle.

Manresa Castle is a really neat place to stay - it has an entertaining history that involves ghosts and monasteries. The building and rooms feature some beautiful elements - vintage wallpaper, turret shaped rooms with views onto the garden - you have a feeling of being in a grand old castle. The finishings are a little worn and dated - but the place is clean and well kept. We stayed in one of the turret rooms, which was nice and spacious with a sitting room.
The only major drawback is that it is not in the main part of town, so you either have to bike/drive to get down there. I would prefer to stay downtown just for convenience but it was a neat experience to try it out once.

My wife took me to the haunted castle for my birthday , she loves me. We went on a $99 dollar package which includes room. two drinks in lounge, and one appetizer. After dropping off bags we had a great two hour experience in Lounge with drinks and food. Jimmy the bartender is friendly and attentive. Tip was generous due to his service.. beware the drinks are big, delicious, and buzz driven.

The reason I did not give this hotel/castle a higher rating is because bed was horrible, sank in middle and if you barely moved it squeaked. It might of been haunted. The room was also dingy and small. but the towels were fluffy and new.

We thought about walking to the downtown area but its about a two mile hike so nixed that. Downtown area is loads of fun, if we go back we will definitely get a room closer to downtown.

Manresa Castle is full of character and charm. The staff is excellent - extremely friendly and helpful. I stayed two nights, along with members from my local writing group, and the entire experience could not have been better. The restaurant was also terrific - great food! I can't wait to go back, we're planning to make it an annual event.

I was part of a retreat planned by my writers group to get away to recharge and re-energize our writing and Manresa was the perfect location for that. The rooms were clean, comfortable and unique. As a writer I loved the ghost stories, and the possibility that the rooms were "haunted". I didn't see or hear a ghost but the stories added to the ambiance. The staff was kind and friendly and attentive to our needs as individuals and a group. There was space enough for us to spread out and several comfortable locations for us to enjoy cozy conversation. Manresa was the perfect location for our retreat.

This was a 5 star experience. We had a suite and it was charming, and comfortable. The staff were wonderful. Prices were great. We access to larger meeting rooms.

Food is really good. Great service in the bar and restaurant.

We are planning to back to sight see. A personal trip this time with my husband and another couple.

If you want something a little different than a hotel or motel. This is a must do.
