You have "Better Living Through Coffee." This place attracts people who tow the line and then some. The food looks like it's been designed by anarchists--which isn't necessarily what makes it bad, but it's not exactly something impressive in terms of culinary expertise.

Great coffee and service. Did not try any food. We were there twice and it seems to stay busy. Pretty view of the water and boats and good wifi.

I finally tried Better Living Through Coffee after striking out at several other places where I had hoped to have a healthful, though late, lunch. Their menu seems to be pretty much the same every time I look. Still, I should've tried it sooner.

The spinach quiche with its side of baby spinach salad and house mustard-honey-vinaigrette were excellent. Although it took a while to get the food, I think they actually heated the quiche in a real oven; it had the texture of a baked slice rather than the steamed feel of microwaved food. The spinach leaves in the salad were fresh, delicate, and dressed just right, complementing the light custard-cheese-veggie melange in the thin, tasty crust. According to the blackboard menu, food is sourced locally from organic farms. Wherever it came from, it was simply good.

While I did not try any coffee this time, I will drink some on my next visit. And there WILL be another visit, because the mini-ginger cookie I ate enchanted me with its fresh-cut gingeriness. Two of those plus a cup of latte ought to hit the spot perfectly for an afternoon pickmeup.

Views of the whitecaps and spring showers are impressive from within the cozy shelter of this little cafe. All the better to relax while waiting for your order, as staff seem to be wearing two or more hats and therefore you cannot expect instant delivery. It's a pleasant place to wait, though. Just remember it is a coffee house, not a full-service restaurant or a McDonald's.

I love the view from every window while sipping my morning latte, and nibbling a traditionally prepared pastry or cookie. They have other edibles as well though, such as local grass fed beef hot dogs, smoked salmon chowder, tamale pie, quiche, smoothies. Great place for a casual meal with a terrific view.
