“funky and cool”
Reviewed 10 October 2013

this is a subterranean restaurant/bar off a side alley. The origins of the Cellar door was a remodel of a tunnel, which is still evident by the walls and the blocked off areas which labyrinth under the downtown. The air still smells a bit like coal oil, and it's easy to imagine unwilling sailors being shanghai-ed down these corridors! Food was good and also a good selection of liquors and wines.

“Funky & Fun”
Reviewed 19 August 2013

A funky little place with a good wine and beer selection. The food looked great but we didn't eat when we were there. It was ukeleli night when we were there. A couple of dozen of senior-looking citizens playing their instruments from the audience. But most nights, it has a much more funky/bluesy feel. Worth a stop or two.

“Fabulous place and food”
Reviewed 28 July 2013

Really tasty tapas, good prices, wonderful feel to the location! Nice staff. Interesting selection of foods and wines and mixed drinks. There was even a guitar player Friday night. The sliders were great. My husband had the buffalo balls. Spicy and good. Great specials.
