“Lovely, just lovely.”

What a wonderful spot -- right on the shoreline! The food was excellent, the room cosy and lovely, and the view was amazing! It's a comfortable walk to downtown and restaurants, or a short, short drive. We came on the recommendation of friends and were very pleased.

What a great place to stay! Location, hosts, rooms, food,...everything was just wonderful.
The Commander's Beach House is located right on the beach. The view from the yard and rooms is simply gorgeous. Sounds of waves and buoys were relaxing. Owners, Jim and Gail were nice and friendly and that made our stay comfortable. Breakfasts that were made of local ingredients were tasty and enjoyable. Rooms were clean and nicely decorated.
We would definitely go back to stay!

My husband and I stayed at the Commander's Beach House for our honeymoon. We loved this B&B. The food was good. The room was on the first floor and had a wonderful view of the Puget Sound. We would go again!

Room Tip: We liked the room on the first floor.

We stayed in late July when the summer should have been upon us, but weather was coolish. The hospitality at Commander's Beach House B & B in Hudson Point in Port Townsend was very warm, welcoming and relaxed. Jim and Gail provide a lovely, home on the beach, filled with personal artifacts and mementos, including the laid back do, Captain Cutter! Breakfasts were simply delicious, fresh and bursting with flavour. Commander's is the perfect starting point for long beach walks to Fort Warden, a quick launt into the town and menandering through the neighbourhood admiring the restored Victorian homes.
We highly recommend this B & B.

We found out about the Commander's Beach House when we searched online at www.bedandbreakfast.com. One thing we were looking for was a place right on the beach. Our wish was fulfilled! We fell asleep to the sounds of the waves and the chiming of a buoy. In the morning, we first enjoyed a walk on the beach, and conversation in the cottage garden. Next we were treated to a delicious, fresh breakfast which included a cantaloupe and blueberry concoction, followed by a veggie frittata and apple pastry. The hospitality was excellent! Thank you, Gail and Jim!

Room Tip: Each room is uniquely decorated, so stay in a different one each time! Our room, the Island View roo...

I have stayed at many B & Bs and am happy to say the best experience by far has been at the Commander's Beach House in Port Townsend Washington. It is pretty without being fussy, the breakfast was delicious and filling, the inn keepers, Jim and Gail are very personable and make you feel like an old family friend come to visit. The location of the house can't be beat. The porch leads to a lovely lawn and garden that leads to the beautiful beach. Everything about this place makes you feel right at home including their big sweet yellow lab. We will be back!

Room Tip: To avoid stairs stay in the Schooner room downstairs. It has a fireplace and private bath

Jim and Gail present you with a wonderful B&B experience. Indeed, the Commander's Beach House is the reason many of us pass by the big hotel chains en route to charm and beauty that permeates the experience of staying at the Beach House. Could not have asked for better meals, a more relaxing atmosphere, intertesting guests, and even a really neat dog (Clipper makes the stay more like home!). We'll be back, Sue and Jack
