We went for the Arcade Fire concert at the Gorge. The wifee and I brought our 3 yr old and 4 month old. 3 friends also came along. We stayed in the yurts.

We have travelled a bunch and stayed at high end hotels and resorts. I can without a doubt say that the customer service at Cave B was the BEST.

The staff seems genuinely happy to help. Whether it was delivering the food to a picnic area before the show or bringing coffee to the yurt or driving us to the front gate of the show everything was done with a smile.

The food at tendrils is excellent and the views are spectacular!

We stayed at Cave B to celebrate an anniversary. There were pros and cons of our stay, but we were disappointed overall and will probably not be back. Here are the pros:

-Beautiful view from almost anywhere at the hotel

-Great winery with wine tasting

-Walking trails through the vineyards

-Comfortable beds

Here are the cons, many of which were deal breakers for us. We stayed in a Cavern room, so I am not sure if this applies to all the rooms at the hotel:

-No blinds on the top windows! The bottom windows had black-out curtains, but nothing on the top windows. The sunlight blazed in our room at 6AM each morning.

- Lack of restaurant options. We ate dinner at Tendrils which is at the hotel. Dinner was pricey but good. No reservations are required for breakfast. We went for breakfast at Tendrils the morning we were to check out, only to be told they couldn't serve us. They said to come back maybe in 20-30 minutes, which was not an option since we needed to get ready to check out. Plus we had just hiked up 4 flights of stairs in 100 degree weather. I guess they were short-staffed? The thing was, there was hardly anyone even in the restaurant! There were only 3 table with people at them. There is nowhere else to eat for 20 miles - not even a store, so we were just out of luck. And no apologies to top it off. For a short-staffed restaurant there seemed to be a lot of people just standing around.

-Stained carpet in the room. Our Cavern room had numerous (over 5) big stains on the carpet. It looked dirty and made me uncomfortable taking my shoes off.

-The layout and how to get around was confusing. There is valet to park your car and they will also take you around on golf carts, since everything is really spread out. However none of this was explained to us in the beginning so we were just trying to figure stuff out as we went along.

There were other things that were minor annoyances - no internet access, a shower that had virtually no water pressure, some bugs (centipedes, crickets, etc) in our room...but some of those things you expect when you are so far from the city. We were willing to overlook them but some of the other issues are not acceptable.

Overall, we paid for a 4-star hotel and felt like we got the service and treatment of a 2-star hotel. We would not recommend this place to friends.

Beautiful setting over the Columbia River Gorge and nestled in amongst the grapevines in the vineyard. Young, Friendly, very helpful staff. Clean and very well kept. 5 stars. Excellent choice for my daughters wedding and reception.

Room Tip: Yurts dont have much of a view of the Gorge. Choose a bungalow overlooking the canyon.

I was fortunate enough to spend 2 nights at Cave B while working an event at The Gorge last week. We stayed in a cliff side house (#4) and from beginning to end the experience was awesome. The setting and views were so relaxing and beautiful. Our house was right above the pool area, which was convenient when we wanted to relax for an hour. The staff were extremely accommodating, given the large music festival that was taking place across the street. The restaurant on property, Tendril's, had the most amazing food! The breakfast buffet every morning was filled with lots of choices and the dinner menu at night had the best Salmon I have ever eaten. If you get the chance to visit Cave B, you must do it!!! We will definitely be going back!

Room Tip: Stay in a cliffside house, as opposed to the Yurt! The Yurt is a round house with a skylight that will wake you up when the sun comes up! Worth the extra money!

We have stayed at Cave B 3 times now and absolutely love it!! We stay there the first weekend of August every year for Watershed festival. We also spent Valentines weekend there two years ago and had a fabulous time! All the staff is super nice and willing to go out of their way to help you if needed. The pool is very relaxing and we love the food and beverage service there too. The wine paired dinners are sooo good! Actually I don't think I have had anything there that has been bad. I highly recommend this relaxing resort to anyone! I'm having my pre-wedding party there next year and can't wait to share one off our favorite places with the people we love!
