We showed up late, the place was busy. Decided to wait the 20 minutes. We were sat in about 5. Great! Enjoyed the wings on happy hour late night menu as an app, thick tasty finger lickin glaze. I loved the $5 chili, might end up craving that. Hubby's burrito he thought was a bit small and only other complaint is our server needed to learn about the house spirits. She wasn't really sure what Rye Whisky was? We will go back!

Overall, I guess I would not go back here. It was loud in there. We had a party of 6 and the bill was over $250. There are a lot of other restaurants to explore. Our waitress was attentive and gave good advise about the food and drinks. The overall dinner experience was reasonable as we were with good company. It was however unfortunate that a birthday card with a gift certificate in it was left on the table (our fault as it was dark) and of course when we called about it "no one saw it". Not even the bus boy who cleared the table, simply amazing! In fact the hostess was rather rude about it, seems she couldn't be bothered with it. Called Dan the manager and he let us know they were too busy to be bothered with our petty gift card situation.

We have eaten here several times since the Matador opened and the experience continues to spiral downward. The first couple of times we ate here all was good or even better. Subsequent trips have been plagued by poor service, charges hitting my checking account twice,(and then the hassle with them to get it corrected), food orders that don't arrive at the same time as your dining partner, (5 minutes for the second entree) and meals having to be sent back because they are cold. oh and did i mention the service is bad.

The Matador does have a good menu and the items are reasonably priced and the venue is nice, but i think i am done. i do think you are better off service wise sitting at the bar than the booths or outside.

First of all, there is nearly always a wait, but the hostess always overestimates, and it's rarely more than 15-20 minutes. The waitresses here are great - fast, friendly and we've never had an incorrect order. I've had several things here... I wasn't thrilled with their shrimp tacos, but their enchiladas, flautas, portabella mushroom fajitas, and their chicken adobo were all excellent. I can never decide what to get, but I always know it's going to be good. They make a mean mojito, and their white peach sangria is also amazing.

This was a fun evening. 4 of us showed up and were seated in a corner booth in the bar at 5:30. We ordered 7 items from the Happy Hour menu and giant margaritas, which I admit, might have impacted how we saw the food. Each Happy Hour plate is $5. Our top rating goes to CHILI! Who'd have thought it? It's faulous. spicy, hot, meat filled. the romaine salad was also a surrpise, generous hit. SKIP the calamari- undistinguished, in too small bits. The Shrimp were good, but with just 3 shrimp for $5, not sure of the value here. Tacos were pretty good, esp. the prok and the carne asada. Side of guacomole was excellent. the noise level got pretty loud, but what's to be expected in a happy hour, fun place. We'll visit here again, esp. in happy hour. BTW, service was impeccable.
