We stayed here one night while traveling through. The facility is clean and appears to be well-kept. However, there is no air conditioning, and we arrived at a time which was apparently warmer than normal, so the room wasn't completely comfortable with just a fan. However, we knew there was no AC when we reserved, so I guess that was our own fault. There was a good internet connection which we always appreciate no matter where we stay, but really no place to put the computer with any chair to use it. In fact, there was no chair in the room at all to relax, or sit and read, nor was the lighting sufficient to do so. While there was a "library" down the hall for reading, I prefer to have a place in my own private room to read or relax, not a public area. I have to say the bed was one of the most uncomfortable I have ever experienced in a lodging facility--a platform bed with a lumpy mattress which obviously needed to be replaced.

The breakfast was very average, and overall, though this place is rather quaint and seeks to trade upon the "antique" ambience, it was definitely overpriced for the night's sleep and amenities we got. A chain motel would have been more comfortable.

We stayed at the Huckleberry House this weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The B&B is a beautifully restored 1900-era house with gorgeous fir floors, wood windows, and simple antiques. We stayed in the Gypsy room which offered a claw foot tub, organic linens, flannel sheets, warm desert-colored walls, and wood blinds. Cozy, clean, and charming. There is a small reading area outside the rooms with a window seat, a wide variety of books and Northern Exposure episodes to choose from. (If you're a Northern Exposure geek like myself, don't miss these homemade videotape copies of original episodes, complete with 1990 commercials.) We could have slept and relaxed in this haven for days.

Don and Sibyl were very welcoming hosts. Breakfast on day one was a delicious egg scramble with smoked salmon, homemade scones, and fruit. The second day we were treated to huckleberry pancakes, sausage, fruit salad, and fried eggs. (Beg for the huckleberry pancakes if you go; they're fantastic.) I REALLY enjoyed a yoga class with Sibyl, and Don had many suggestions for hikes, restaurants and local activities which made our weekend planning effortless.

Need I mention more? We also enjoyed a spotlessly clean hot tub with a sky of stars overhead. The location just one block from the main street in Roslyn meant we didn't have to drive anywhere if we didn't want to, but we were far enough away to not be bothered by the noise. We also appreciated Don and Sibyl's environmental sensitivity.

This is an excellent choice for anyone who prefers a more personal, charming experience than a chain hotel, but the professionalism of hosts who have been working in the industry for a long time. I can't recommend this cozy home more highly. Thank you, Don and Sibyl!

We were only passing through Roslyn for one night, but we really wished we could have stayed longer at Huckleberry House.

The B&B is run by Sybil and Don who have just moved round the block to leave the house dedicated to the guests and to provide themselves with a private house in which to bring up their family.

Sybil wasn't in when we arrived (half an hour later than we'd planned) but she soon turned up when we followed the instructions on the door and phoned her. We were shown to our delightful room upstairs, and told to help ourselves to drinks and homemade chocolate chip cookies (best I've tasted!).

The Pastoral Room (soon to be renamed the Quinault Room after the birth of the new baby!) was spacious and tastefully decorated. It was also peaceful and had a very pleasant bathroom with an old-fashioned style bath.

There is also a very pleasant library with lots of books and leaflets about the area. This is a very pleasant place to sit and relax.

Breakfast was slightly chaotic as all the guests turned up at 9am and there weren't enough seats in the kitchen for us all! Sybil had been baking, however, and there was fresh plum cake, fruit salad and a lovely baked eggy-cheesy thing.

We had a couple of hours to kill before we had to leave Roslyn and we were given suggestions for where to visit and we were permitted to leave our car parked in the drive until we were ready to go.

We didn't have time to try out the hot tub but it looked nice!.

A very good quality B&B!
