We arrived at midnight and left at 4 am...very short stay. The rooms were comfort and the bar met our needs for a quick meal.
We had a problem with the shuttle driver at the airport. He refused to take our small folding scooters (50 lbs each and my husband does the lifting). We were forced to back track to find a taxi. This was difficult for our 80 year old friend who was on foot. We had traveled over 12 hours that day so it was disheartening, to say the least.
When our taxi arrived at the hotel, the Marriott registration staff were waiting to pay for our cab. Marriotts around the world always take care of our mobility issues. So, it was surprising to run into this driver.
The manager scheduled a private run for us the next morning. To our dismay, the same driver was on duty! Again, he told us to take a taxi. We explained he was called to take us and he would. He gave in and drove us to the airport. Shockingly he expected a tip!
This is not typical of our 40+ years with Marriott. More
