“very nice little place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 May 2014

we headed out to the coast to celebrate a birthday and enjoy the sea and salt air. the long beach area seemed to have a lot of great places to eat as well... a nice bonus!
we chose this place for our last night there... decided to go casual and sit at the bar. good wine, the food was excellent - roasted beet salad, razor clam/crab cakes, calamari puttanesca (incredible), and even a fantastic burger.
the service was a bit rocky. cash register issues absorbed the bartender's attention for most of our visit... she didn't even notice we were there at first. and the pub lighting seemed bright for the setting. all in all a very nice restaurant for a small town.

“Food disappointing.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 April 2014 via mobile

Service was great, attention was there when needed.
The place is very old, and it smells that way, very musty.
Food, well my wife had halibut and it was old, which was hard to tell because it was smothered in a overwhelming pine nut sauce. She didn't finish it. I had the Kobe steak. Just wasn't that good, good portion but not flavorful and the mushroom sauce drowned it.
Also had a potato/bell pepper mush.... That was nasty and water downed.
So wanted it to be good, but... no it wasn't.

“Nice Pub”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 March 2014

the food is very good and the pub is a comfortable place to relax with a glass of wine. Parking can be hard to find on busy days. Have a look around, if rooms are not booked you can see them as well.

“Comfortable, charming resaturant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 January 2014

We had New Year's Day brunch at the Shelburne Restaurant and found the food and the service very good. The menu on that day was somewhat limited, but the both the pasta and the egg dish my wife had were tasty and well executed. Would like to go back and try the Pub next time we're in town. Best wine list on the Long Beach Peninsula and reasonable priced.
