We stopped in for a drink and some lunch. We have a beach house so we didn't need the room. The bar tender was very helpful and knowledgable. The food was good. We really enjoyed the atmospher.

Room Tip: again we didn't sleep here so I have no idea what the rooms are like

A brief word on how I rate a hotel. I don’t compare the hotels I stay in with the uber deluxe such as the Ritz Carltons, Westins, Marriotts and Hiltons. I look for value (price), location, comfort (a bed that easily holds my 6 foot, 1 inch body), en suite facilities, free or inexpensive breakfast, room for our suitcases (and us) and great people staffing the hotel. A five star hotel exceeds my expectations. A four star hotel meets my expectations.

I have been visiting the Shelburne Inn ever since Laurie & David bought the place 30 or so years ago. When I first starting going to the Shelburne, there were no locks on the room doors and many rooms had the bath "down the hall". We recently treated our family to a stay on our 40th Anniversary on a long December weekend around Christmas. We took over most of the China Beach Retreat plus a couple of rooms in the main B&B a couple of miles away. The rooms were excellent with no TV, no telephones, no radios although there was a TV at China Beach. The breakfast, included with the rooms, was unbelievably good & extraordinarily filling - WORLD CLASS at least. Dinners at the Shoalwater Restaurant were gourmet beyond belief. Who cares about WiFi? We go there to GET AWAY not to hook up. The beds and pillows are comfortable. The antique furnishings are just right. Laurie & David are great hosts with an encyclopedic of things to do, to see and to eat in the area.

Room Tip: If you have a large group, go for China Beach Retreat which can sleep 8 or 10 people in a more moder...

As previous reviews have noted I am not a big fan of old hotels and B and B's but this historic Inn was a fabulous place to stay during a recent two day business trip to the Long Beach area along with Pacific Ocean in Washington State. The rooms were large and clean and mine came with a private outdoor patio area that was really a nice feature. No TV's or radios (this is a good thing) but a lovely lobby, complimentary coffee and tea and on one afternoon a local ladies weaving club was in the lobby spinning away. The room comes with breakfast and my oyster mushroom omelet was out of this world. The location is good, with shops and restaurants nearby, and one of the greatest beaches in the World about three blocks away. I did not eat dinner in the restaurant but joined friends in the Pub one night and the entrees they were served looked fabulous. This is a great Inn and the staff were super nice and I had a chance to meet the owner who told me he'd been there "forever".

Room Tip: Do not go to Long Beach without a stop at nearby Cape Disappointment State Park, a 2000 plus acre si...

We have discovered the shelburne inn. We pop in for the delicious burgers and home cut fries and some local color (music and local folks) on tuesdays regularly whenwe are on the peninsula (we are seattlites). If we are around on a blustery Friday night we take the opportunity of making a longer cozy evening of it, luxuriating in the delightful jazz piano playing, and an excellent cocktail, glass of wine, small plate, or dessert. We have fallen in love with this place!

This is like staying at a dear friend's home. Cozy, charming, and inviting. Comfortable bedding, amenities, cookies in the room & coffee & tea in the fabulous "lobby" which is a wonderful place to just sit and chat, read, or play board games. Each room has large private bath. Wifi is free. Complimentary gourmet breakfast is amazing!!
Owners David & Laurie make you feel like personal friends you'll want to visit again and again. This is our 5th stay.

The hotel is about as quirky as anything I have stayed in. It reminded me of 221 Baker Street or an old London house. The place is full of antiques is a gem if you like to revisit history. The hotel itself was very good, the bed was comfortable and the services just right. The restaurant was the best meal we had in Washington State and is highly recommended.. A delightful old inn

My husband and I wanted to get away from the Halloween frenzy on our short city street. Sixteen years ago, we had had a memorable dinner at the Showalter Restaurant in Seaview, contained in the Shelburne Inn at that time. We decided to go back to Seaview, stay at the Shelburne Inn, and eat in their restaurant, probably under other management, but still said to be excellent. We made a reservation, but we were informed that the restaurant would be closed on Monday. The hotel is charming, and we had the feeling that the staff would bend over backwards if they could to make us comfortable. Homemade cookies, offers to bring tea to our room, etc. We didn't have any demands. The rooms are small, attractively decorated, and furnished with antiques from a couple of generations ago (four-poster canopied beds, fringed lamp shades, etc.). No telephone or television in the rooms, but there is free WiFi and a computer with high-speed internet for the use of guests in the small library. There are books in all the rooms, and in the library. If you have mobility problems (are wheelchair bound, or need a walker or a cane), this may not be the place for you, since the rooms are up a flight of stairs, and there is no elevator. The breakfast was quite good. I'm sorry we missed having dinner there.
