“Can I Live here?”

I wanted an off the beat place to spend a couple of days while driving through Washington and found this place on Groupon. I was not disappointed when I arrived. This place is right across the street from the water and super cute. I was in a lodge room which is a little walk from the main road but not bad. The room was just renovated and looked amazing. Huge relaxing tub in the bathroom with jets, there's a fridge and microwave as well as iron and blow dryer. Nice tv over the fireplace with dvd built in, dvds are available to borrow in the office. Comfy bed and the sofa folds down into another place to sleep. Very relaxing location, quiet and peaceful. Front office is very helpful.

Room Tip: If you can spring it a cottage in the front, Lodge rooms are great as well!

Green Features: I love hotels that are green and care about the environment. You can provide quality accommodations while being green at the same time and it's great for everyone.

We spent 3 nights here in early June this year, staying in the Twin View Room. Amazing location with views of the mountains at the back and the sunsets over the bay at the front.
Our 'cottage' had everything we needed and more besides.
We were welcomed by Matthew, who was helpful and friendly and the cottage had been beautifully cleaned prior to our arrival.
The Twin View Room does not have a kitchen, but there's a fridge and a coffee maker. We bought breakfast provisions in Safeway, in Sequim, and sat out in the garden each morning with a hummingbird to keep us company!
As well as the hummingbird there were deer in the garden and a pair of bald eagles with an eaglet in a nest down the road.
We hope to return to the area and would stay here again if we do so.

Room Tip: Pick the twin view room for the views!

My husband and I have stayed there many times. We liked the place even though it does need updating. I had to cancel 1 week before are arival and tried to make other dates. I had only booked it a week prior to that. They would not even do that. I didn't ask for a refund but my plans had changed and they would not hear of it.
I lost over $600 and will never stay there again. Seems to me that is not a way to do business.

Room Tip: Don't book a date and then have life issues happen>>>>>

This property is amazing, it is all the website claims, which is nice for a change. Private, quiet, clean, right on the bay behind the Dungeness Spit, you can hear the ocean surf. We stayed in #4 cottage which has a nice two bed set-up, great if your partner snores!! Close to places you want to visit, too. Matthew was our host, so friendly and helpful. We would stay again in a moment, bringing other friends to rent cottages and monopolize it! Stay here!

Room Tip: #4 has two beds and is very quiet

First, the location is classic: right on the bay behind Dungeness Spit and within earshot of the soothing surf. The cottages are classic too: old but large, clean, and well-maintained. (We stayed in No. 4.) We walked up and down Marine Drive, around the Spit and associated state park (a short drive away) and used the cottages as our base for trips into Olympic National Park.

My husband and I decided to take a vacation and wanted to go somewhere we had not been before. We settled on Sequim and decided to stay at these cabins. We arrived a few hours early and had to wait for our room to be cleaned, but it was done in a quick and efficient manner. We quickly unpacked and went about enjoying the beautiful and seren surroundings. We took our dog for a walk on the beach, walked the surrounding grounds. This delighted me to no end as we were surrounded by cows and llamas! At night you could gaze to the heavens and view the stars and since there were no city lights the stars just jumped out at you. The next day we went into town, visited a few shops and headed out for the lavendar farms. The cottage we stayed in was small, yet comfortable and had everything you could need for your stay. It even had a dishwasher! The owners are warm and welcoming and seem genuinely concerned that you have a comfortable stay. They met our every need. I brought a book and knitting to keep me occupied and did not pick either of them up while we were there. As a side note there is no restaurant on site, but there is a kitchen in the cabin that had all we needed to prepare meals. This is a perfect place to get away from the rat race.

Green Features: Each room had a place to put recyclables and it was emptied daily. They also gave you the option to reuse towels and bath cloths, etc.

My wife, my dog, and I had an extremely delightful experience visiting “Juan de Fuca Cottages”. Tom and Missy, the owners, really go out of their way to ensure their guests have a very pleasant and memorable stay. The cottages, some nearly 100years old, reflect the charm of the area “back in the day” but yet are very well maintained and comfortable. Nestled on a bluff at the foot of the Olympic mountains and overlooking the Straits of Juan de Fuca and Dungeness spit yet surrounded by farmland abundant with the calming effect of deer, cattle, llamas and other critters one would be hard pressed to find a more tranquil setting anywhere on earth.
I have read several of the less complimentary reviews and have come to the conclusion that the authors made a very poor choice when deciding to avail themselves of the accommodations offered at this wonderful get-a-way. This should not be your choice if you want to be in and about a busy, bustling city full of activities, it is not a good choice if you are leery about getting a little animal dung on your shoes nor is it a good choice if your concern is high speed internet. This should be your choice if you want to get away from all those things that infect our day to day lives and just kick back, enjoy nature and relax.
We will be back; absolutely loved the stay.

Room Tip: We stayed in cottage number 5 which had great views of the mountains to the South and of the Straits...
