My husband and I decided to celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary in our own home town. Intrigues as we watched the remodeling go on we decided on a trip on the Orient Express.
It was a fabulous getaway from the daily stresses of work and family.
Beautiful views from the former engineers roost and a giant whirlpool tub were highlights. The breakfast was delicious and creative. It was a memorable experience to walk over to the dining car, be seated at our table for two (they arrange tables by number in party so you can have privacy or mingle if you like). The multi-course breakfast included fresh from the oven quick bread, sparkling cider and eggs benedict made with smoked salmon, avacado and croissants that I never would have ordered but devoured just the same! Food is a big part of traveling for me, it was fun finding something scrumptious and different in my own home town.
We will come back again and next time may rent the Circus Caboose so our kids can enjoy the bunks and the nightly frog concert.
