I recently stayed in the Eagle’s Nest cabin for several nights with my extended family. Because of the size of our group, we rented virtually every cabin at the resort and pretty much had the place to ourselves. It was fantastic! Easy to follow directions to our cabin (and parking) upon check-in and the space was very well decorated and clean! The kitchen had everything we needed….and then some! The indoor space at the Eagle’s Nest was open and a great place for our “cocktail reception” and the first leg of our progressive dinner for 20+ people. The living room opens right only the large deck with FANTASTIC views of the water and the evening sunset!
Since our family rented pretty much the entire resort, I can also say that every cabin was unique and great for our whole group. We spent much of our time at the Eagle’s Nest (top of the hill) and down by the water at the Boathouse and Clam Diggers, which had GREAT access right on the water and plenty of outside seating around the fire pit for the whole group. The other three cabins that we had (Captains, Skippers and Landing) were fantastic as well. The balcony views from these were a little different in that these cabins were in the middle of the hill, so-to-speak (between the water cabins and the Eagle’s Nest at the top of the hill), so the views of the water were more tree covered than the other three cabins previously mentioned, but they were equally fantastic. We enjoyed sitting out on these balconies and staying cool in the shade during the hot afternoons!
The cabins had everything we needed --- including extra paper towels and toilet paper which a lot of places forget about. The Eagle’s Nest had a dishwasher that we put to great use and plenty of kitchen utensils and dinnerware (not just the standard) and small appliances (toaster, coffee machine). The rooms were clean and well-maintained.
The owners were also great! A group of us were relaxing out on the dock one afternoon and they stopped by for a great chat and gave us the history of the place, great information about the area, etc. They could not have been nicer!
I would definitely recomment this place and I can't wait until I get a chance to go back!
