Description: In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Their mission was simple: create a fun and friendly atmosphere where the local community could enjoy huge portions of home-style cooking at a reasonable price. Today, we continue their mission at every Black Bear Diner across the country, as we passionately provide guests an outstanding experience. Our menu offers comfort food classics, and our entire menu is offered all day long. Whether you are craving pancakes at 8 pm or pot roast at 8 am - we've got something for everyone. Enjoy your meal in our family-friendly, cabin-themed diner with our welcoming staff or order to enjoy in the comfort of your home.

Lots to chose from on the menu. Large portions , all reasonably priced. Food was excellent and so was the service. We will definitely go there again.

I like Black Bear diners everywhere, but the one in Sequim stands out. It seems a little larger than normal and because it's in a small town, it's not as crowded as some others. The service is excellant, and the food selection is broad. The restaurant is located off Hwy 101 but just East of town and in a scenic location. My wife and I eat at Black Bear Diner whenever we're in town

We have been lovers of Black Bear Diner for years. When we moved to Washington there aren't very many locations. Luckily for us, there is one on our side of the sound in Sequim. Whether we are going to Sequim for the lavender festival or choosing new peonies we always stop at Black Bear Diner. The food is good and the portions are generous. The servers are always accommodating and helpful. We day would be complete without a stop at Black Bear.

We arrived on a recent Sunday just before noon and, while the restaurant was fairly crowded, we were seated immediately in a nice booth. I ordered the Corned Beef Hash, my breakfast favorite with Rye Toast. And, while the menu offered a Portuguese Sausage entrée, our pleasant server said it could be served as a side. My order came up quickly. I had requested that the normally two-egg dish be decreased to one that was fried and the hash itself consisted of large shredded pieces of corned beef with a small amount of diced potatoes. While all egg orders come with a side of potatoes, I was surprised by the large amount of perfectly caramelized cubed potatoes grilled with onions and peppers piled onto my plate. Ordering the ‘side’ of Portuguese Sausage was definitely a mistake. The nicely grilled link was excellent and was at least 10 inches long. Surprisingly, I was well into my breakfast before my wife’s order of Steel Cut Oats was served. We thought that the lag time might have been due to the oatmeal being made to order. But, when the bowl arrived barely warm we knew there had been an obvious breakdown between the kitchen and server. My wife opted not to send it back. While I found my breakfast to be good, overall I think the $47 bill for our food, coffee and two mimosas to be somewhat pricey. Regardless, the next time we are in the area I would consider returning.

We are so sorry you didn't enjoy your meal at my restaurant. Our corned beef hash is not the same style as other restaurants. We prepare and carve our own corned beef. The pieces are much bigger and you end up with more meat than usual. I apologize about the Oatmeal! The oatmeal is steal-cut homemade oatmeal that takes a long time to prepare. We had run out. I talked to my Manager and we have now began preparing the oatmeal in a double batch so you don't have to wait that long again. Thanks for the heads up. We have been selling much more then we ever expected. I hope you visit us again. Sincerely Bret Wirta - Owner

We generally visit the Black Bear Diner once or twice a month. Have always been happy with anything we have tried on their menu. Good Food, Great & Friendly service, rarely more than a few minutes wait to be seated. Prices are good too. AND the portions are very generous. I sometimes don't 'clean' my plate.
