We arrived on a recent Sunday just before noon and, while the restaurant was fairly crowded, we were seated immediately in a nice booth. I ordered the Corned Beef Hash, my breakfast favorite with Rye Toast. And, while the menu offered a Portuguese Sausage entrée, our pleasant server said it could be served as a side. My order came up quickly. I had requested that the normally two-egg dish be decreased to one that was fried and the hash itself consisted of large shredded pieces of corned beef with a small amount of diced potatoes. While all egg orders come with a side of potatoes, I was surprised by the large amount of perfectly caramelized cubed potatoes grilled with onions and peppers piled onto my plate. Ordering the ‘side’ of Portuguese Sausage was definitely a mistake. The nicely grilled link was excellent and was at least 10 inches long. Surprisingly, I was well into my breakfast before my wife’s order of Steel Cut Oats was served. We thought that the lag time might have been due to the oatmeal being made to order. But, when the bowl arrived barely warm we knew there had been an obvious breakdown between the kitchen and server. My wife opted not to send it back. While I found my breakfast to be good, overall I think the $47 bill for our food, coffee and two mimosas to be somewhat pricey. Regardless, the next time we are in the area I would consider returning.
