When you look at the exterior of Fiesta restaurant you might wonder why such a simple looking establishment seems so busy. It certainly doesn't look very special from the outside or very Mexican (granted that it has arched windows that may be very loosely characterized as "mission-style").
Walking into the place you will see plastic parrots hanging from the ceiling, hand painted murals of missions, views of the Mexican countryside, adobe bricks painted on the walls, and some plastic flowers at each table. It is obvious that no decorator was hired to create a Mexican facade, this decorating was done from the heart, not the eye. So if it is atmosphere you are looking for, this might not be the establishment for you - you'll easily find that at the Mexican chain restaurants.
Aethics aside, if you are looking for authentic, well-prepared, and delicious Mexican food served by friendly people that will remember you, then Fiesta is the place to go! This restaurant features fantastic salsa, delicious main menu items (I'm hooked on the Asada here), and great service. The portions are very generous and the price is very affordable. In my opinion, this may be the best Mexican restaurant in Washington.
