We visited mid May 2014. It was a little cool outside but the trip well with it. We had stayed in Seattle the night before boarding our cruise and a friend that lives in the area wanted to take us on a small excursion prior to boarding. We were pleasantly surprised! The ride from Seattle out to the falls was enjoyable and sceanic. The area around the falls ways very quaint. The fall was stunning and quite impressive to view. The grounds were very well kept. There are boards and signs posted in the area to give you history of the area and on the falls. You can view the fall from different viewing areas around it. The sound of so much water rushing over the edge is deafening. I would say to be careful as the mist tends to settle in the pavement causing it to be slick in some areas but other than that we had a great time viewing the area and the drive out was quite worth the visit! Was a great start to our cruise to Alaska. Do plan on returning in our next visit.

“Amazing!”

We had been here before, but this time we went to the base of the falls. It was a nice hike down and the view was great, enjoyed looking at the river as well. We went to the gift shop and they have a nice selection with reasonable prices. Next time we will visit the Salish Lodge.

“Gotta see it if you're nearby”

Impressive location, plus a nearby casino and lodge with a famous Sunday brunch. Even local Seattleites come just to see it, but we heard languages and accents from around the world.

“Awesome”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 August 2014

What a beautiful place. Well worth a visit. The bizarre thing is that if you want to go down to the water's edge, you have to climb over the barrier, by-passing he locked gate, and go down the steps which have been provided! They know everyone climbs over. I guess it's a litigation thing that the locked gate is to stop you so if you injure yourself its your fault not theirs. However, Its lovely by the water in the mist arising from the falls. Trails behind and up to the head of the falls were lovely and although paved pathways, the woodland was natural and apparently unmanaged giving it a very natural relaxed ambiance. Gift shop good

“Breathtaking!”

The falls are definitely worth a visit when visiting Seattle. We combined it with the lunch at the Lodge and it was a perfect day.
