“Not the best stay”
Reviewed 27 January 2014

The pictures for the hotel are deceiving. Upon entering our room we discovered the beds that appeared to have nice comforters on them in the picture were just a blanket with a white sheet on top. The bathroom floor was dirty and there was hair left in the shower stall. The continental breakfast was okay, but bare minimum. In the future I will pay more to get a clean room and better amenities.

We have stayed here several times due to price & location. They have a floor of updated rooms! Be sure to ask for an updated room or you will be disappointed! Also with a good view. Our window was looking into an ally & backside of another graffiti buliding and trash. The older rooms are disgusting. Low dirty ceilings, old tvs etc. Updated rooms are nice. Breakfast area is tiny & freezing as its right by the main entrance. But great price and friendly staff. Get an updated room with a good view!

Room was clean, wifi was reliable. But the breakfast was boring. They served cold scrambled eggs for you yourself to microwave (weird huh??). Lunch room is small and squishy. Staff weren't very friendly, but the price was good. Right next to a 7-11 with a gas station, so that was handy.

If you're on a budget, choose this hotel. But if you're on honeymoon, spend a few more bucks somewhere else.

Booked though Hotwire for 1 night; even at the Hotwire rate of $44, I felt I paid way too much. I don't normally write reviews, but feel the 2.5 star rating is misleading.

The pros...the lobby appeared clean and the front desk clerk was friendly and provided us with directions and a map to the restaurant we wanted. The sink, toilet and tub appeared to have been cleaned.

The cons...yes, it is in need of updating, but I can live with that as long as the place is clean, which this wasn't. Hair and other dirt on the bathroom floor. Dirty (as in unvacuumed) and stained carpet. Underlying BO smell in the room. Hairs on the sheet of one of the beds. "pillows" that were so flat they were useless. Anytime anyone left or entered a nearby room, we were awakened but the slamming doors, and the toilet flushing and running water from the adjacent room was extremely loud. We did sleep for a few hours but just wanted to get out of there as soon as we could in the morning.

We should've walked out and spent the $120 up the street, but it was late and I wasn't sure of what recourse I had for a refund as we had booked through Hotwire for the first time. Won't do that again.

You get what you pay for. I was looking for central & Downtown. I got a great deal, but the reality is.......it's in a run down part of downtown. Hotel is run down and fits in with the neighborhood .......close to freeway and soup kitchens. Went for a walk and only saw homeless and destitute.....depressing. It is not in a very hospitable area. Rooms are bare and basic

Room Tip: Go to the Marriott

I stayed the night to do some much needed homework in the relative peace and quiet (or so I thought). I booked on Priceline name your price. This room is not worth $65. The internet didn't work and I was told it is always down and not to expect it up. There was floss stuck to the bathroom floor and the heater did not work. I have a medical service animal and was told I would not be able to have breakfast because it's not "sanitary" to have dogs around. I alerted Sarah (supposed manager who will not divulge information on how to get hold of the owner) that my dog is medical service (and clearly marked so). The response was that it doesn't look sanitary. WHAT? Hairs all over the room and floss stuck to the bathroom floor is? She claimed to know nothing of the ADA, which I believe. Much training needed in housekeeping, ADA and customer service. I can't rate the food, but it was nice of the manager to feed the homeless who sleep all around the hotel at night I will not use Priceline again and will alert all to consider sleeping around the outside of the building with the homeless as it would be a friendlier and just as clean atmosphere.

Room Tip: Go elsewhere!
