“Mom's Birthday tradition-”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 November 2013

I treat my mom to a stay at a B&B for her birthday-we have stayed in places throughout Idaho and Washington but this year we stayed closer to home and visited Roberts Mansion. Everything was perfect from the beautiful and elegant home to the conscientious, professional and accommodating staff to the delicious 3-course breakfast. In fact, this was the best breakfast I have had at a B&B, the presentation was beautiful and the owner joined us for a portion and shared some history about the house and some history about Spokane. It is very apparent she and her staff truly want the best experience for their guests and we had a wonderful stay. They also host weddings and have the ability to accommodate other types of
events, it would be a gorgeous backdrop to any special celebration-

Room Tip: We stayed in the Mary Tracy Suite which was beautiful, a roll away bed was brought in so there was p...

We had the best time here because this was an awesome place. The character and history, the owner and Inn Keeper, and the overall experience made this very enjoyable and I already would like to go back.

Room Tip: The EJ Roberts room was very nice, but all of the rooms looked nice.

This is a beautiful mansion filled with history which the hosts love to share. A delicious home made breakfast is served daily which includes fresh fruit, fancy egg dish, potatoes and bakery goods. The owner and staff are so helpful and really take pride in making sure you have a restful happy stay. There is great walking and views in the area as well as good restaurants less than a block away. Be sure to try the Mexican restaurant; great drinks and food. If you're vegan or gluten free, Pacific Pizza is quite the find (although service can be very slow there.)
This was my second time staying at Roberts Mansion; I will definitely be back!

Roberts Mansion is charming. Take the tour upon checking in to learn more about the history of the house. We stayed in the Marian Suite, which was offered to us as a free upgrade a couple of weeks before we arrived. The suite is plenty large, and there is a small private balcony accessible from the en suite bathroom. The room was very pretty, but picky sleepers (or those with bad backs) may want to bring their own pillows as the bed itself was not the most comfortable and is very creaky, like most old beds are. The shining star of our one night's stay was the next morning's breakfast. The presentation and food are perfect. Varieties of teas and coffee are offered on the sideboard, before sitting at a large table where water, juice, fruit, two kinds of quiche, bacon, potatoes, muffins were served. It so happened we had a full table of ten, and the conversation flowed as freely as the food. There is plenty to go around. It was all delicious. The mansion itself is in one of the beautifully preserved older neighborhoods of Spokane called Browne's Addition. A short walk will put you in reach of several pubs, The Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture, and Overlook Park on S Coeur d'Alene Street provides walking trails down to the river. You feel as if you're in a secluded neighborhood with easy access to nature trails, yet are only a few short blocks from downtown Spokane.

Room Tip: Marian Suite is large, clean. Bathtub. Small private balcony off of bathroom.

For less than the price of a downtown hotel, we had an apartment suite, with kitchen, sitting room, bedroom and bathroom, parking right outside our door, the Secret Garden, all beautifully appointed and restored, and complete with pots and pans, dishes & glassware, microwave, refrigerator, enough to cook for a family. Rosauer's, the supermarket with everything from food to liquor to a postoffice, was 2 blocks away .

Tammy was wonderful , and refreshed our room daily with amenities, coffee and tea etc. The room was surprisingly quiet, though it faced a main street. The TV did not work while we there , but the internet was fast. The bed creaked with every movement but I guess that's the way old beds are. We loved the old heaters and chandeliers in every room, which worked efficiently.

We were not familiar with the Browne's Addition neighborhood, which had wonderful places to walk and eat without driving. We went to the local museum and park, including views of the River and Valley, all within walking distance.

Mary. the Innkeeper and owner, had wonderful stories about the history of the Area and of the EJ Roberts Mansion. Each of the rooms had a story and we were so glad to have heard them. Thanks Mary, Tammy, and all!

This is a lovely inn. It has been wonderfully restored and preserved. The staff was very friendly and helpful, even though they were very busy with a wedding the night we were there. They still acted as if we were their top priority. Very Nice!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Secret Garden Cottage. It was perfect! It has a full kitchen and a sitting room...

Staying in this lovely, well appointed in and absolutely loved it. The room was well appointed and ever detail was taken care of. Be sure and let them know the time you are going to arrive as we arrived a bit late. The breakfast was superb. We also were able to get dinner at the bistro nearby at 9:30 which was appreciated. It was 5 minutes to the convention center.
