“Can i get a non smoking/smoking”
Reviewed 18 September 2012

Upon arrival, the staff was difficult to deal with they were slow and not sure. It was close to the hospital which was great. We received our cards and went for about a 15 minute ride on the elevator. We started on the 3rd floor and went all the way to the 1st floor. We had 2 sometimes 4 people there with the intention of renting another room. They would show up in the morning to go to the hospital to visit and stay the night in the other room but before we could get another room the maids would report us to the managers who would call the second we got back to our room. " The maids are paid spies lock up your stuff."If they only clean as hard as they snooped. Its funny they are nonsmoking but they open the window to the 1st floor hall where the smoking area is located. So the floor stinks of winston and gpc cigarettes. Over all I would stay away next time. It's an overrated motel 6. The one good thing is its location. P.S. if you drive a fiat or smart car your fine all others park in hospital parking garage. It will save you dents and dings on your ride.

Dear Travelers: Housekeepers at The Madison Inn take pride in maintaining a very clean hotel and they guard the privacy of our guests - it is not our policy to 'snoop'.

If this guest had came to me with his other complaints while he was here, we could have moved him to a different room and accommodated his requests.

My daughter and I decided to make a last minute shopping trip to Spokane and decided to scope out Trip advisor for their accomodation recommendations. This hotel is a gem! Probably the cleanest hotel that we have ever stayed at including some five stars in other cities. The room was awesome with all the ammenities that you would expect, such as air conditioning, blow dryer, iron, plus a small fridge and microwave. The two beds were comfy and there was a nice lazy boy chair to relax in.When we were there it was super quiet . A continental breakfast with a good variety was included and coffee and teas are available 24/7 . The lounge area has nice tables for breakfast and nice chairs to relax in.They do have a work out room on the second floor and on the fourth there is apparently a quiet area to relax plus vending machines. We did not take advantage of these amenities . The staff were great! If you ask they will give out discounts for the two restaurants that are walking distance from the hotel up the hill. The Mexican restaurant had good food but there was far too much food for one person. Next time I would order one portion for two people. There are a couple of restaurants next door, but we did not try them. The hotel is a five minute drive from downtown. The staff recommended parking the car at the big parkade downtown and it was cheap, 8 dollars for the whole day. Centrally located you can explore all of the shops, restaurants and sites close by .The parkade is accessible from inside the mall until very late in the evening. Best to pay before you go out at the kiosk though, the paying line at night gets very long. We loved the city of Spokane and will definately come back to this hotel!

The staff was very friendly and polite. The room was a little dated but comfortable and nice and quite. The breakfast was fine, overall a nice place to stay while traveling, we will use them again. Only thing I wish was different is they don't have a pool or fitness center.

Dear Puddin1231: I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay and want to thank you for sharing your experience with others on Trip Advisor. When you do return, please know that we do indeed have a fitness room, with two elliptical machines (one of which is a PreCor), a treadmill and an exercise bike. I would enjoy showing it to you on your return.

Happy Travels,

Bill

This is a wonderful hotel. Tucked up behind the Medical Centre, it's pleasant, clean and good value. The staff is very friendly and goes out of its way to be helpful. In fact, the only negative I can even think of is that our GPS took a while figuring out how to reach it, which was obviously the fault of the GPS, not the hotel.

This is a very nice hotel right next to the Sacred Heart Medical Center. The staff is very friendly, and the hotel is very clean. It is decently quiet, but I could hear the tv from the room next to me. The beds were comfortable, and they were medium firmness. The air conditioning worked great. It is close to downtown Spokane, also.

We've stayed here many times in the past, but hadn't been back for more than a year. We were pleased to find that it's still a good value--reasonable prices, many long-time staff who are competent and pleasant, clean & good-sized rooms, close-in location, etc.

Had trouble booking a room during a busy weekend in Spokane and found the Madison Inn. What a gem. Across from Sacred Heart Hospital which I didn't give a thought to. Neat and clean as can be, outstanding staff,
Free parking is always a plus in the city. As it turned out I had a bit of a medical problem and my out of town dr. said go to emergency so being near the hospital worked out well. We were so pleased with the Madison the next week when we needed to be in Spokane I booked it again without second thought. Near restaurants and not far from downtown and the freeway for access to just about anywhere.

Room Tip: 4th floor is same as ice machine and vending, 3rd is with lobby and continental breakfast
