“A Fun Piece of History”

W.W. Seymour Botanical Conservatory
Reviewed 15 January 2013

I’ve visited the Seymour Conservatory several times over the years. It’s a great historic conservatory that’s taken care of. Though small, it’s filled with beautiful plants as well as a pond filled with colorful goldfish. It’s a great place to visit on a cold wet day, since it’s warm and dry inside.

There is no fee to enter, but there are donation boxes and a gift shop that helps keep it operating. The gift shop features a variety of nature-inspired things as well as local history books, children’s gifts, and candy. The workers in the shop are very friendly.
If you’re ever in Wright’s Park, or even nearby, the conservatory is worth a visit.

A must see if you are visiting the area. We have seen it with friends and family members over the many years because the setting is so unique with the adjacent park and playground. It's a very relaxing place on those cold, dreary days. The gift store I think provides a funding source for the conservatory to keep this gem available for the public.

Wow! This is a cool place in the middle of Tacoma. Go to Wright Park, walk around the big outside loop, visit to warm up and see som beautiful orchids. Nice walk...

Tiny conservatory in the middle of a beautiful park with labeled trees. It was interesting to see the historic building, but they certainly could have done without the gift shop that had the usual ticky tacky souvenirs. Add more plants. Great display of mums.

This is a unique landmark in the center of Wright Park, Tacoma's version "Central Park." Visit on a dreary fall or winter day when you need a little tropical foliage. It's small, but worth a visit, especially if you couple it with a walk in the park.
