“nice family getaway”
Reviewed 22 August 2013

we rented the baitholder cabin for our family of 4. we were with 2 other groups...one stayed in the little red cottage (the only pet friendly cabin) and the other had a rv. our cabin was very clean and cozy with a fully equiped kitchen, small bathroom with standup shower, loft area for the 2 kids to sleep with mats and blankets (taller kids cannot stand up straight up there), bed, tv, and firepit outside. the cabin is small but very updated and to me much better than sleeping in a tent. there is no air conditioning but the cabin did not get extremely hot. we went mid week and the sites were not even half full which is to my liking....very quiet. our cabin was a short walk to the lake which is beautiful and large. people were fishing off the dock catching trout. you can also rent pontoon boats, peddal boats, canoes, etc. the little red cottage is a little further away actually outside the campground inbetween houses but nice for the dogs with a fenced yard, fire pit, and a pet sleeping room in the cottage. the inside of this is definately more a cottage and not a cabin and is still in walking distance of everything. there is a little store that has a little bit of everything with very nice people who work there and check you in. we wanted to stop by wolf haven which is a very short drive away but we had our dog so we will have to go another time. we will definately be going back again. thanks so much!!!

Close to Wolfhaven, Lake is large, boat rentals, campsite has playground, basketball court and small cabin rentals, the atmosphere is family. Spacing for privacy is comfortable.
The advertised bathrooms and showers were closed with only portapotties available. "Closed because of concern of freezing pipes" (high 60 degrees, no freezing worries). We and others complained, and they opened the flush toilets, but advised the showers would not be available..
Would have given this place a 5 star if they had mentioned online, during phone reservation or at check-in that the restrooms and showers were closed. The portapotties at fishing dock was well used, the portapotty in the camping area was also locked.

We went here in May for the first time and stayed at the campsite. We since have gone back several times and stayed in the cabins. Very nice cabins and very very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Get place to visit I highly recommend it.

My husband and I spent two nights in the Baitholder cabin at the end of the season. the owners were very welcoming and friendly, let us have a look around before we settled in (we hadn't made reservations). the cabin was well-equipped, with a shower and a full kitchen. The bed wasn't very comfortable, but other than that we had a pleasant stay. the place was quiet, although there were a few campers and RV's around. We took the kayaks out on the lake and had a fantastic time! such a relaxing environment!

I have never been here before and my husband had been reading on the fishing and wanted to go. So we went and it was great. Docks were nice and clean and so was the campsite. Fishing was great also. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great place to get away with your other half or as a family. We will be going back very soon.

We stayed in our motorhome in a site near the playground over Kids Weekend. The resort was a blast. Traditional fun included a pudding eating contest, coins in hay, and karaoke and swimming. Made the weekend absolutely nostalgiac. The staff were fun and helpful. I was especially impressed with the clean bathrooms. We can't wait to return soon.

Wow, I haven't camped in years. This was an amazingly fun time. I went with a friend and had an absolute blast. There is fishing, boating, rental canoes, paddle boats, hiking, and very well appointed camp sites with cable! This is my kind of roughing it! This was my first time pulling a trailer and the owner guided me in with no problem, super friendly, checked with me to make sure we were having a good time. I have never had an experience like this outside of The Wynn in Las Vegas (a different place, with the same motto, we want you to have a good time!) I would recommend this camping experience to the seasoned pro as well as the camping novice. The mood of the owners sets the tone for the people that stay there, made many new camp buddies and really had an incredible time. Thank you! Wendy St. Julien
