Offut Lake Resort is a fun little campground good for weekend camping. We camped in spot T6 near the back of the campground. Which was not the best spot, but was ok. The best camping spots are in the lake side area all of thoes spots looked great. Spots T2,T3,and T4 were next to the road and small and I would not recomend them. T5-T12 were ok. They also have a Yurt that is located just over the lake and is probably the best spot in the whole place. All of the rv spots looked small, there was enough room to put up your awning but that was about all. Rv spots 23a and 23 were much bigger, but are in the middle of a drive around area. The best cabin location by far was the Triple Teaser in the lakeside area. The reel suite, bass ackwards and rainbow runner cabins were in a good location, but the biggest cabin the Bait holder was in the worst location. I write a lot about the locations because your experience will differ depending on your location.
The play area was good with swing, slide, fort, etc. And there is a basket ball pad and hoop, so bring a ball. The management seemed kind and friendly. They have a general store where they sell fishing stuff and other basics. There is a little trailer called the chuck wagon where you can buy coffee, espresso, cocoa ect. and it had some basic meals like a plate of eggs. The little one person shower took 4 quarters and was warm and ran long enough to wash your hair ect. I would bring shower shoes though as it used by a few people. The fishing is good, but we didn't catch anything and were there for 3 days. We fished from the dock and from a boat. The dock is made for fishing with benches and places to put your poles. They have boat rentals, but I thought they were a bit much so we brought our own small boat. Other people did catch fish and they caught their limit, so read up on lake fishing. It is a dark lake and had a lot of minnows if that helps any. There is a laundry, but we didn't use it. Over all the people camping there were friendly, calm, family types. There were some younger and older couples. We did see quite a few beer cans in hands and more than a few couples kissing for longer than I concidered appropriate, but other than that there was no out of control behaviour. The Karokee was good and more of a family than bar atmosphere.
We also went to wolf haven which is located 2 minutes from the resort. And The Mima mounds which is about 20 minutes away.
Over all I would stay again, but I would stay in the lakeside area.
