“Wonderful Get-away”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 May 2012

We spent just one night at Alderbrook, but it still felt like a wonderful get-away! We love this place. Beautiful, peaceful scenery. I sat in the window seat in our room, and read, looking out at the mountains! We went to happy hour, and then watched a movie in our room. Had a delicious breakfast and soaked in the hot tub before heading home. The staff was wonderful. We look forward to our next visit.

Room Tip: The canal view rooms have a beautiful view.

We had a wonderful experience at Alderbrook Resort and Spa. We had 3 rooms and one cabin and were really pleased with all of them. We enjoyed breakfast, happy hour and a wonderful birthday meal in their "wine room" and the food was really wonderful. The pastry chef made an exquisite cake for our birthday girl and she was really impressed. We all had spa treatments and agreed they were some of the best "hot stone" massages we had ever had. I would highly recommend this resort. Beautiful place, great rooms, very helpful staff, great food. Definitely going back!

We've stayed here before but this time took advantage of the onsite spa which was very pleasant. If you're looking for a special treat and don't mind spending a bit, it's well worth it. The staff is very attentive from check-in to the restaurant and spa.

Room Tip: Choose courtyard rooms if you like the sound of running water and frogs :) Very peaceful.

I was just there again for a Business Conference, but I'd come here for pleasure too. It's just a very well appointed resort. The rooms are nicely decorated and the entire lodge just has a wonderful Northwest appeal. And when the Olympic Mountains are out like they were this week, it was just hard to keep your eyes off them. The staff was professional and friendly and the grounds are appealing as well. I found the menu in the restaurant a tad pricy but the food provided for our conference was excellent. It's not really close to anything too exciting to do, but one can rent kyacks and paddle boats there and there is a golf course and driving range and some hiking in the area. But it's a great place to just get away from it all. I even loved their croking frogs at night and their cats Alder and Brook!

Room Tip: We had Room 301 which faced straight out to the water in the center of the building, I thought that...

We always think, "why bother", when it comes to packing a suitcase to head 40 minutes down the road!! Let me say, it was well worth the energy because once we arrived, we had the best time relaxing and kicking back where the phone was never for us!! From the folks in the parking lot, each and every step of the way was thoughtful and made us feel very special!! We loved our beautiful room with a view of the garden and the mountains from the bed!! Over the course of our stay, we had breakfast, lunch and dinner at the restaurant, two meals in the lounge and one in the dining room!! All were fabulous and beautifully presented!!

Room Tip: We loved being able to see both the garden and the canal!! Our nice, corner room afforded us both!

We very much enjoyed our stayfor one night on Easter. The grounds were very nicely maintained - Easter breakfast at the hotel restaurant was fabulous. Staff were attentive and professional.

We enjoyed the gym, hot tub and pool area. While our room was not ready when we arrived, we were able to enjoy the facilities before check in.

We loved the peace and quiet and would plan again to come for the same when the hotel is not fully booked. We would highly recommend - which I don't do very often.

Some highlights were the quality windows, flat screen tv, views, on-site food and staff.
Thanks again - we will be back!

The resort has nice rooms and cute cottages right on the water, but if you want more than 2 bedrooms, they now have a few very lovely, new homes up on the hillside near the golf course. They advertise as being 'walking distance' from the lodge, but they are NOT -- at least 2 miles UP hill, and not on the golf course. But the houses themselves are lovely...a great get away for friends or family and only about 30 minutes from Bremerton or Port Orchard ferry. Bring your own entertainment - not much to do in this area besides golf, but great spot to relax, read, watch movies, do puzzles, play cards, laugh with your friends.

LwnSeattle, Thank you for your comments about our houses and cottages. We are excited to be able to offer them to our guests that require a larger space. We are sorry there was confusion about walking distance. Goodness, that would be a vigorous, beautiful, but vigorous walk. We are checking all of our marketing and promotional materials to find out where we gave the impression that they are within easy walking distance. We are glad you found the house relaxing and quiet. Hope to see you again soon. ~ Frank
