“Making the best of it”
Reviewed 14 April 2014

Our primary goal of this get-away was a romantic couples weekend. This resort is a fun spot and there were many families and a few weddings. All of this made for much noise and revelry and not a lot of quiet romantic spots. We actually asked to move rooms since we had the one next to the electrical with the weird hum and then the screaming kids checked in next door. They moved us and it was much quieter. However, noisy children was the norm not the exception. The view, food and amenities were lovely. We made the best of it by getting up early and using the property and pool area prior to 9am during adults only time. I would love to attend a wedding here, but not sure I'd come back in high season for a relaxing get away.

If you want to get a feel for the Puget Sound area then this is the place. My husband and I have been to Alderbrook Inn by boat several times in the past but never stayed there. We heard they completely remodeled and wanted to check it out. I'm glad we did! We visited this past November. The lodge was beautifully done with lots of wonderful holiday decorations. The grounds are absolutely breathtaking! Fountains and pathways between the evergreens. The rooms are very cozy and most face the water. I also can't say enough about the food and wine selection. They have a great menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the service in the dinning room is perfection. The only issue we had was the bar service. It took awhile for someone to wait on us and we had to flag someone down to get another drink. I was surprised because the rest of the staff was very helpful.

We're so glad that you were able to experience our property via land instead of sea blueloozer! As a heritage property, it is so wonderful to hear about how our loyal guests enjoy the changes that we have made over the years. Thank you for taking the time to share your delights in our property. We're sorry to hear that the responsiveness of our Lounge service did not match the rest of your interactions with our team and are glad that it didn't dampen your overall impression of our property. Your feedback is very important and has been shared with our management team for awareness and review.

We spent one night at Alderbrook after hiking in the Olympics this past weekend. It was PERFECT. The spa fit me in last minute for a massage, our room was beautiful and relaxing, and the atmosphere most enjoyable. The northwest feel of the resort really adds to its quality. Dinner at the restaurant and breakfast in bed were both superb. Highly recommend! A great getaway not too far out!

Room Tip: Most of the rooms have a water view. We stayed on the third floor (305) and were happy with the quie...

We stayed here for our Anniversary. Unfortunately, the weather was not the best, but was still very beautiful. The grounds were nice, just getting green, no floral yet. The rooms are very nice, a little tight on space, especially the bathroom but we had a nice view. But what made our stay was the staff and service. Exceptional. And the food was very good. I like to cook, so I'm not easily impressed. I like offerings that I would not usually have at home. All the serving portions were of good size.
We are looking forward to coming again.

Room Tip: We stayed in a garden view room with a partial view of the water, plus it was above their water feat...

My wife and I spent a night here, and it was just splendid. The room was beautiful, the property itself was fabulous, and the food was terrific. We went with Lovers Package with which you receive a 150$ gift certificate for the restaurant. You must try the crab cakes, and the steak was perfect! We arrived closer to the evening, so we did not get a chance to walk around and enjoy the scenery; however, we did that in the morning, and you really appreciate the secluded area of the resort and fresh breeze from the bay. The room is very specious with a little window seating area, where you can just relax. This is our first time here, and I know we will be back. We always went to Harrison hot springs in BC, but after discovering this place, I know we will be coming here more often. It’s a fantastic place to just get away for a day or two.

Our children gave us a gift certificate for a one-night getaway stay. We chose a Monday night and the hotel was not busy so the desk staff did offer us an upgrade to a water-view room which was spectacular. Nicest hotel room we've stayed in in a long time. Very comfortable and roomy. We were able to sit on the window bench and view the beach, water, hills and mountains (luckily it was a clear day).
Dinner was fabulous. We shared the crab cakes for an appetizer and they rated among the best we've even eaten -- all crab and no fillers. And the presentation was wonderful also.
Breakfast the next morning offered a fried oyster omelet. Never heard of that, but it was wonderful--a nice blending of spinach, bacon and oysters in a beautiful omelet.
Definitely something to return for!

We got married here in 2012, and to keep this short I'll just say the staff and the location are amazing. Anna helped me with everything for my wedding, and although it was very small (12 guests) and there were other weddings happening the same day, she still was very attentive and kind. The rest of the staff was just as amazing in helping with us a variety of things. Feel free to message me if you have specific questions about using Alderbrook as your venue.
We booked a couple cabins when we were up there for our wedding weekend, and they were great. The beds are very comfortable. The cabins have at least 2 bedrooms and kitchen/living areas, which was great because we could feed everyone without spending a fortune eating out for every meal. The location of the cabins are very nice, and you walk out onto a big open lawn where you can BBQ or play lawn games. The kayak rentals are great, right off the dock there on the property and with beautiful views of the mountains. The restaurant is spendy, but very good.
We went back for our 1st anniversary last summer and stayed in the actual hotel, and while it was very nicely furnished (the ceilings are very high, it's a nice effect) and have great views, we did not enjoy them as much as the cabins because of the heavy doors in the hotel. Every time someone enters or leaves a room the doors SLAM shut. I thought at first we just had inconsiderate neighbors, but when we left in the morning the door slammed behind me very quickly and I realized there isn't much guests can do about it. The rooms are also a little on the expensive side... but we still plan on returning for more anniversaries. We absolutely love it there!
Beautiful area, always lots to do, and they hold different events on site too. Most of the staff recognized us from our wedding when we went back, and that was really cool. They even comped us a bottle of champagne to celebrate :)
