I LOVE Alderbrook resort and Spa for many reasons, but one reason is the restaurant and bar. The food is very good, prepared but an amazing chef, Lucas, whom Ive met. He truly is superb! I love the dinner, but the price is a little high, but the view of Hood Canal can't be beat. You may even request a window seat if you see one available (not a lot of reservations during lunch at those tables).
Breakfast: WOW!!! Every item on the menu is fantastic. I recommend the Cinnamon roll french toast, it's literally a cinnamon roll cut in half and battered like french toast. Also, for something savory, my favorite is the Crab Benedict. ITS TO DIE FOR! If you are in the drinking mood, the Bloody Mary, complete with an entire crab claw, is amazing! the prices for lunch are reasonable, $10-$20 per (large portioned) meal.
Lunch: My favorite is the Crab Louie, very fresh. I also love the Halibat fish and chips. In the summer, the fresh caprese salad (with herilom tomatoes) is so good too! THe wague beef burge..mmmmmm. Prices are reasonable, similiar to Red Robbin.
DInner: The dinner menu changes very often, but I love the Crab Cakes, yummy, fresh, and lots of crab! All of the steaks are a great cut and highly recommended. Prices are a little spendy for dinner, you are really paying for the experience and view (nice if it's during sunset). I would recommend saving some money and go during lunch or from Memorial day- Labor day, hit the patio bar/restaurant.
Patio: Excellent ambiance! Beautiful view right on the water. In fact, you can sit anywhere on the grounds (by the water) and the waiter will come over to you. It's very relaxed and inviting. SOmetimes during dinner, a local guitarist and singer will be playing rock and roll music. THe patio is only open for lunch and dinner, but doesn't close for shift turnover like the restaurant. They have yummy smoothies and home made delicious Ice cream sandwitches (not served in the restaurant).
ALL IN ALL, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Great view, delicious food, amazing chef, great ambiance! And, you don't need to be a guest at the resort to enjoy.
