“Helpful, Clean, and Family-Friendly”
Reviewed 30 May 2014

I took my 10 yr old son and his friend to Pine Near over the Memorial Day weekend. Since it was my first time using full hookups in our new RV, Anna offered to help me every step of the way, from parking, to leveling, to getting the sewer and electrical set up.
The location is perfect. Across the street from the outdoor museum, which has a walkway down to the main street with all the shops and restaurants. (Don't miss the Rockin' Horse for stellar coffee!)
The campground is well-organized with a nice central grassy area where all the kids (and adults) played...frisbee, ball tag, etc.
Very dog-friendly for well-behaved dogs.
You can also rent a tipi, which would be fun for the kids.
I am so grateful to Anna for all her help and can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: Ask for the central area if you have kids, and near the tipis if you want more privacy.

My family and I have been camping in Pine Near for 3 years now and we cant say enough good things about this campground. Anna has always accommodated my group (teenage kids with friends) and assisted us with every question. We are happy to celebrate our family event with Anna and her family and will continue to do so every year. This campground has green grass with clean facilities and wildlife that comes visiting. Quiet and close to town gives your teenagers something to do, but also lets them stay connected via the internet.

I stayed here the day after Memorial Day weekend and the park was clean and quiet. I met Anna when I first arrived and she was helpful and friendly. It's about a 3 minute walk into town or to the river, but off the main highway. I'll definitely stay here again and would highly recommend Pine Near.

Pine Near is a great place to stay! We had trailer problems and didn't make it in until almost midnight, yet Anna met us and showed us to a great spot. The next morning she loaned us a pressure regulator we were missing. The campground is walking distance to town and we enjoyed a nice stroll to breakfast or ice cream. Just out of the way of traffic,Pine Near is peaceful and relaxing. Highly recommended!

We camped in a tent here twice in 2013. A quick shortcut walk into town through the museum makes things easy. We walked to town for a lovely dinner at the Mexican restaurant, and back down for a fabulous breakfast at the bakery. Clean, well taken care of campground, and a fabulous quiet location steps from main street. Best of all they are motorcycle friendly :-)

We recently camped with our vintage travel trailer at Pine Near. Anna was sponsoring a vintage trailer rally at the same time as the annual car show the weekend after Labor Day.

What a nice spot, a block or two from the town center, lots of grass, clean and not too pricey. They restored a run down park into this grassy/old style campground after taking it over from the bankrupt former owner. And they did a wonderful job.

Locals told us that this couple had a real spark and were a big part of making the entire little town work. I believe it.

We camped here recently and had a great time. Anna and Shannon were really helpful and friendly. They are working hard to make sure their new venture is a success and it shows. The welcome was wonderful, they were genuinely interested in making sure their guests had a good time and the facilities were great. Add to this a great location just a few minutes walk from the centre of Winthrop and we will definitely be going back.
