My wife and I were traveling through Winthrop with our dog and I was looking for a place to stay that was pet friendly. Mt. Gardener Inn has four rooms that they reserve for travelers with pets and so we booked one of those. You would think that the pet-friendly spots would be a bit on the lower end side, but our room was quite nice. I was really pleased with the quality of the room and the nice touches the owners had made to allow their guests to enjoy the property. I would definitely come here again.

Such a peaceful and relaxing place to stay and the owners are delightful as well as accommodating. We would certainly recommend Mt. Gardener Inn to anyone passing through Winthrop. It would be the perfect spot for extended family or a group of friends to congregate.

We were very sorprise on how clean and nice this small hotel was. The rooms were tastefully decorated and very clean. The lady that checked-us-in was very nice and helpfull.
the hotel is just 5 minute drive to town or 15 minute walking disctance.
The have a fishing gear shop at the front desk which is gear toward fly fishing.
The front desk lady recommended dinner at the Old School House, which had good burgers on an outside terrace overlooking the river.

We were pleasantly surprised by this place. We were looking for the cheapest hotel possible for a quick Winthrop visit, this was the cheapest. So, we weren't expecting much. We were blown away by the character of the inn, the friendly service, just the overall pleasant experience. We brought our little dog with us, and like a previous reviewer said, he was welcomed with open arms. The room was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for our 2-night stay. Definitely would stay again! Highly recommended! The only thing, the T.V. was really tiny, but that's ok, we didn't use it much anyways.

Thank you for the wonderful review of our inn! Most of our rooms have 32" flat screen TVs but a couple do not yet. This room has a 19" Vizio flat screen. A high quality TV but it is smaller than our others. We are always making improvements and appreciate guest feedback. A larger TV for this room will be bumped higher on our priority list. Thanks!

Reviewers have recorded their 'outstanding' views of the Mt Gardner Inn in Winthrop, and after a two night stay I am delighted to record my appreciation of Inn keeper Alison for making our stay so special. Alison's enthusiastic attention to detail, comprehensive background information about local places to eat, and memorable locations to visit formed the background to our very enjoyable stay.
Without Alison's information we would not have found the 'European style' Glover Street Market - featuring organic and natural foods, and the friendly Cinnamon Bakery and Expresso just off Main Street in nearby Twisp, or the beautiful 'Falls Creek' waterfall hidden off a minor road 12 miles out of Winthrop.
All this in addition to a beautifully designed, clean and comfortable room with a balcony looking directly west to the sun setting over the North Cascade mountains.
300 days of sunshine makes this a special place to visit.
Mt Gardner met and exceeded the high expectations recorded by other reviewers.

Room Tip: Rooms on the second floor have large balconies and spectacular view (west) towards the Cascade Mount...

I say "Inn" because it felt more like an Inn than a motel or hotel. Very comfortable in every way. A nice lawn area outside of our room to sit in and have a glass of wine after a late afternoon of golf, only a few miles away. The owners are delightful; California transplants looking for a more civilized life. Very quiet, clean and spacious. From the road it does not have "curb appeal" but don't let that fool you. It is a keeper.

Room Tip: They have rooms in the front portion, bordering the road, and in the back, adjacent to a nice lawn a...

Needed to get away from work for a couple of days and found this place online.....although we have visited Winthrop often, somehow we have missed this little gem of an inn. Although it is right off Highway 20, it feels that you have stepped into the country. We brought our 2 chihuahuas with us and were welcomed with open arms....The owners were on site and had a couple of conversations with them....extremely friendly and humble people....they made our two pups feel at home as well...plenty of room for them to romp and there is a large grassy area for them to do their business...room was nicely decorated, clean, and homey....comfortable bed, refrigerator and mcrowave in room....even have Direct TV lots of channels...had a round picnic table and four chairs right outside our door....will most definately return..one of the most dog friendly places we have ever stayed at......

Room Tip: We had one of the standard rooms in the back.......very quiet......not your typical dog room i.e. no...
