This place is a gem. Quiet, on the river, clean, close to town, easy walking to the grocery store. Coffee and fantastic scones in the morning. Nice pool, we will be back. Our price was $83.00 per night since we got the AAA rate and it was midweek. A very good value.

Room Tip: The second floor is quiet. We had the end room, the outdoor stairs were right next to our room, but...

I travel through Winthrop several times a year and have stayed at many different places. The Winthrop Inn is a bargain and pet friendly. The grounds are meticulous and you walk to the river, market and restaurants. I'll be back again soon!

I'm traveling across the country with my two teenagers and this is the first time I've felt inspired to review one of the places we've stayed. The front desk staff is lovely, the rooms are quaint, clean, and comfortable, and the location is walking distance to the river and not too far from the adorable town of Winthrop. We had an amazing time at Northern Cascades National Park, and arriving at the Winthrop Inn was the cherry on top of a perfect day. Pool is small, but we didn't need to swim. They also were welcoming to our dog, and there was a great space down by the river where she could frolic. We stayed on the ground floor and could hear people going up the stairs, but all of this was perfectly acceptable and I'd recommend this place to anyone, but especially to couples.

What a great find in a popular tourist area for under $100 a night! Clean, cute, comfortable bed. Not luxurious, but better than serviceable. We enjoyed the coffee and scones bar and our little balcony. The huge green lawn out back was the perfect place to spread our blanket and read after a long hike and a cool shower.

Room Tip: Rooms facing front overlook a lovely lawn, though the highway is also on that side. Rooms in back o...

We recently were fortunate enough to spend two nights at this lovely Inn. We had gone expecting to stay at another location but fell in love with this place instead. Everyone from the front desk folks to the housekeeping staff were so friendly and accommodating. Not to mention the homemade scones and delicious coffee in the mornings. They had a great clean pool and hot tub. There was a park like setting behind the inn with picnic tables, a clean barbecue ready to go and lots of large trees to provide shade. The grounds were well kept and just beautiful. There were trails down to the river but the river was so high that we really couldn't play there much but did enjoy the 5 acres they had to roam there. The rooms were great and very clean. Our friends stayed down the hall from us and neither of us had any problem with noise of any kind. We even got to see a Hot Air balloon take off right out the back window. For people wanting to stay in downtown Winthrop in all that chaos this may not be the place for you. If however you are looking for a great place just a few minutes from Winthrop this gem is so reasonably priced and so clean I don't know how anyone could pass it up! We are definitely going back and we are very selective about where we stay.

Room Tip: We had an upstairs room with a balcony looking out at the beautiful grounds.

We stayed here June 2014. The room was clean, walls vwry thin, room and bed were smaller than expected. The biggest negative for us was the distance from town. Probably a 15 minute walk...but we didn't try it to confirm. There is a small but nice pool and a hot tub. The river is near by but not what I would call just outside the door. We were on the lower level but maybe the river can be seen from the upper rooms. Grocery store almost next door as is a pizza place.
All in all an OK place for a decent price.

The Winthrop inn is one of the less expensive places to stay just outside of downtown Winthrop. The hotel staff is exceptional! The rooms are clean, large and have refrigerators. We thought the beds were more comfortable than most also (we prefer softer beds). This is a budget motel however so it is not fancy. Probably due to the location so close to downtown Winthrop the price is a little higher than expected for basic accommodations. However it is probably one of the least expensive places to stay in Winthrop. The Hot Tub is operated during the winter but the pool is not (both are outside). The main drawback to this motel is the walls do not provide much sound insulation. Moderately noisy neighbors can easily prevent you from sleeping. For breakfast the motel offers mediocre coffee (no decaf), hot water with tea bags/cocoa/cider and good scones which wasn't enough for our breakfast.

Room Tip: Second floor rooms are quieter.
