“Best place to stay in Yakima!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 March 2010

I had a very good experience when I stayed at the Quality Inn in Yakima. My family and I make multiple trips to Yakima for our kids' sports tournaments year-round, and this is the only place we stay. The staff is very friendly and accomodating to our room requests. Room service was very prompt with extra pillows and blankets. We met the owner in the hallway, and he was also very approachable and made sure that we were well taken care of. Great location too. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who comes to Yakima for business or leisure!

I stayed here on feb 22, 2010. Very good customer service, hot breakfast & nice rooms.

Positives:
- Great location, next to Mall & whole bunch of restaurants
- EAsy to find

Negative:
- I asked for King with Suite, they were sold out. Not big deal though.

I would definitely stay here again.

I like a good bargain, and am a veteran of the budget-minded chain motel environment. There are enough other options in Yakima area to skip this low-quality operation. Front desk: loves their little sign stating "attendant will return shortly", even when they are on phone in the adjacent office, but, not apparently interested in being available to check in road-weary travelers. Front desk personnel inexperienced, unhelpful, lacking basic customer service skills. ("ÿour room is over there'' - vaguely waving towards a fairly large, long L-shaped building complex) The rooms are old, the whole place looks long overdue for some basic maintenance and upgrading, but there is really no excuse for thin, dirty-ochre colored cotton bedspreads that have (both of 2 beds) multiple, visible stains and that greasy feel that comes from lack of washing. The only other bedding is an extremely thin (less than 1/2") quilted sheet that the front desk prefers to call a "comforter", along with top sheet - was only warmth available in mid-winter. When called front desk to ask for extra blanket, was told "I don't think our shipment has come in yet, I'll check" - but by 11 pm no word from them. The hotel was easily less than 1/3 full. No offer to get bedding from another room. The unappetizing, green carpet dark and stained beyond the usual for a chain.
Fan is so noisy, had to choose between cold vs noise. (Chose cold, slept in full sweats)
Breakfast: No, it's really pretty shabby! There's the obligatory waffle maker, but even that didn't function well; no fresh fruit. The half & halfs were souring; Even the little strawberry jam packets had clearly been around too long; The coffee was of the brown-tinted water variety. Front desk seemed grim, resigned, no smiles, going through motions.

Positives: mattress was firm and comfortable. Bathroom, while old and dismal, was clean, including the tub. Location right off highway, (with mild highway noise, not a problem for me).
This franchise needs to be removed from the "Choice Hotels" designation. At checkout, another young front desk employee didn't even bother with the standard How Was Your Stay query. Wise of her... Go ahead and pay same, or even $10 - $15 more to stay somewhere even a little better.

A little scary at first glance but got better after checking in and drivng around and ealized that there are lots of good places to eat around the area. There's newer commercial area with Target and Pizza Hut near the Marriott hotel. The pool is uncovered and the location is far from the room we had. The hotel is more on the older side. There's Sharis Restaurant right in front of the hotel and Ihop and the mall across the street. The breakfast area is big and consists of sausage patties, gravy & biscuit, scrambled eggs, cereals, toasts, pastries, juices, coffee & fruit.
