“Enjoyed our Stay in Apple Country”
Reviewed 20 November 2006

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the Apple Country Bed and Breakfast in September. We were looking for a quiet place to stay on our way north, and this proved to be a great place to stay. We had the large upstairs room with the 180 degree view. The room itself was comfortable with a King sized bed, regfrigerator, microwave, and room air conditioner. There is both a back deck and a front porch where you can sit and enjoy the peace of this area.

The proprieters, Mark and Shirley, were both very friendly and helpful. We felt like we were staying in the home of our long lost cousins. We had our breakfast in the gazebo. It was very good: fruit smoothies, juice and coffee with fruit crepes and sausage. If you are a coffee drinker, they will leave you a fresh pot of coffee outside your room early in the morning before breakfast. We stayed here around harvest time, and Mark offered us fresh fruit from their trees. We greatly enjoyed the peaches, apples, and nectarines.

As noted in a previous review, this is a working ranch, and the house is surrounded by orchards. So, if you are looking for a posh resort hotel, this is not the place for you. However, if you are looking for friendly and helpful proprieters, a clean comfortable room, and a tasty breakfast, this is a great place to stay. We would really like to stay here on our next trip to this area.

Our stay was one of the most pleasant we have ever had in a B&B. The owners were extremely attentive, friendly and helpful on every point. The breakfasts went far beyond what one would ordinarily expect. On one occasion the breakfast was served in a vine-covered gazebo at the edge of the orchard; the fare being delicious, creative and hearty. This is a farmhouse and country inn, not "Tara." One should not expect glitzy decor, immense rooms or grand staircases, but we were completely comfortable. We found great peace and quiet in this pleasant house, the surrounding orchards, and the lush Naches Valley.

  • Liked — The attitude of the proprietors, and the food
  • Disliked — no internet (as I recall)

We stayed at the Apple Country B&B, which is located on Old Naches hwy Road in Naches, just outside of Yakima. It's located up on a hill that looks out over the Apple Orchards and the rolling hills of Yakima. We stayed in the upstairs bedroom, which was very large. It had 180 degree views looking to the south over the orchards and hills of the Yakima valley. The room had a sitting area and a refrigerator, microwave and A/C. There is a small TV in the room but only one channel came in but we didn't care to watch tv. There is a gazeebo outside where you can enjoy breakfast in the morning when the weather is nice. However, the place was full and we ate inside as there were a lot of early morning risers who were occupying the gazebo. Mark and Shirley who run the B&B were very nice and gave us good recommendations for dinner in Yakima. The breakfast consisted of coffee, OJ, sasuage and peach and pear crepes, which were quite good. Overall a nice place and we would stay there again.
