“What a jewel we stumbled across in such a small town!”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

The best ribs, BBQ, Brisket etc. We were driving through this quaint town and were hungry. We were almost through town and were getting very hungry and out of the corner of my eye I caught a glimpse of a BBQ sign. We backtracked and went into this quirky artsy restaurant and had the best BBQ ever. The staff was very friendly and homey. We even played a game of Othello while waiting for our food. The red skinned potato salad was awesome. The hand-cut french fries were fantastic too. Look it up before you go there though because you don't want to miss this place while driving through Berkley Springs, WV.

“Don't blink or you will pass this place...”
Reviewed 21 May 2014

This place is a wonderful find. It is easy to miss as you travel on the 522, but you will only regret passing this place. It features wonderful period décor, simple and fun, as well as very good food that comes in amazing portions. I had the “Three Little Pigs in a poke” or something like that, featuring a choice of three BBQ meats from the selection. I had pork, beef brisket, and beef ribs. They were all wonderful, moist and tender, and had just the right amount of sauce to flavor and compliment. My partner had a burger with home cut fries, and they were wonderful. For sides, we got fried green beans (lovely and fresh) and baked beans (flavorful, just the right size of beans to sauce ratio, and onions and hint of ham hock in the sauce). To drink we had, of course, sweet tea.

Highly recommend this if you want to soak in the local charm and ambiance.

“Nice little spot”
Reviewed 14 May 2014 via mobile

Speedy seating and service. Earthdog has a nice small town charm to it. The food is pretty good, not a huge selection though. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good BBQ or burgers.

“It is just okay.”
Reviewed 4 May 2014

We were seated quickly and waited on just as fast. That was a plus. My burger was good, a little on the small side and hubby had a pulled pork sandwich, nothing to write home about. The fries were very good.

We started talking to another couple and they looked a little put out when the people seated after us were served and shortly after we were served (looks like they had BBQ, while my burger needed grilled of course), they looked at each other and said that's it. They had been waiting for 40 minutes and they were still not served. They did receive a basket of homemade chips and the wife said that those will be comped or else. They paid for their drinks and left. We were warned the service is hit and miss and it missed them by a mile. Would we go back? Maybe. No promises. As for the late night food - the place closes at 9 on a Friday night. I would not call that late night.

“We wont go back.”
Reviewed 1 May 2014 via mobile

We were very unhappy with the cleanliness. The restrooms were filthy and the floors and windowsills need cleaned. I couldn't see the kitchen but seeing this dirty dining area is enough to know they aten't very tidy. A big turn off for me. Don't plan to go back again.
