I travel for work a lot. This hotel is an easy two minutes from downtown Charleston. It is just one exit or so on Hwy 64. Esy to get to 77 and 79.
The lobby and pool are georgous! Fitness center is very nice. The bar is inviting and a nice place to work if I have to. Mosa (the resident parrot) is a riot! There is a video gaming room and banquet facilities. Grounds are nice.
There is an ancient Indian Mound in downtown S.C.. THere are also a couple of cute restaurants about six blocks from the hotel. I like the Pho restaurant best! Great town for walking and exploring.
The staff is top notch. Everyone does whatever they can to make your stay perfect. (As an example, I accidentally droped my car keys down the elevator shaft one night. I had them back in my hands before 8:00 am the next morning.)
I feel safe here. This is the hotel I try to stay at as much as possible. I feel at home here.
Downsides? There is a train which I rarely hear. The food is not five-star, but on a busy day not having to find a restaurant late at night or drive somewhere is a welcome treat! For me "pet-friendly" is not a plus.
In West Virginia, this hotel is on my very short list of favorites."More
