This property is lovely! Despite a cold front moving in we did spend most of the time outdoors. The road leading to the property is great for riding bikes or walking. Does have potholes, but nothing extreme. Wasn’t able to enjoy the river. Water was too cold and up a bit due to all the rain. The neighbors have a beautiful dog that likes to come visit, but doesn’t make a nuisance of itself. Would definitely stay again. Property owner and manager were quick to reply to any questions or concerns I had.
We've stayed at another Wells property a few years back and knew we could expect a spotless home in a great location with everything you needed to just stop and smell the roses. And literally we did, since tea roses were blooming in front of the cabin. The home is beautiful and provides great views and location to numerous siteseeing and activities. We were fortunate to have fabulous weather allowing us and our dog to fully enjoy swimming in the Shavers Fork River, the endless outdoor deck, and hiking in the Monongahela NF. The kitchen had everything we needed and more, great Blue Ray movie like set up, fabulous hot tub. All linens and accommodations spotless and comfortable. It was a fabulous week and we're thankful this property is available for rental. It's perfect for getting away from the daily hustle and being completely present with your family.
My family (myself, my brother, his wife and 2 pre teens, our mom, and my dog) stayed in Larisa's home in the woods for an extended weekend in June 2017. We loved it! The river literally in the backyard, the wraparound deck, the hot tub, the awesome kitchen, DVD selection, etc, etc.
We had a wonderful time! During the day we took hiking trips, explored the beautiful surrounding area and the town of Elkins. We used the propane grill and cooked dinners and breakfasts at the cabin and also ventured into Elkins for a dinner at a cool, local restaurant (can't remember the name at the moment). We spent afternoons down at the river, which the kids loved, floating in tubes & catching crayfish. The adults relaxed in the shade and enjoyed the gorgeous surroundings and the tranquility of the river. In the evenings we built fires at the fire pit & made s'mores. The highlight of our stay was on our last evening. We wanted to look at the stars since we were so far away from any ambient light. So we took flashlights and went to the meadow between the cabin & the river. The stars were amazing but the best part was the lightning bugs- thousands of them in the woods around us, like paparazzi! I'll never forget it!
The cabin is secluded and is on a rough gravel road that has many potholes. Go slow!
We loved our stay and highly recommend the cabin. It was great to unplug (especially for the kids). Larisa was awesome to work with and was super responsive.
