This was on our list of places we had been wanting to see so we took a road trip. It is a very nice area. Lots of scenery. Adventure seekers will have fun as well as those just seeking quiet and the outdoors.

Go to the vistor's center, which has an excellent movie and museum. Riding across the top of the bridge is okay, but for the best experience, get a CD from the visitor center and drive down (and up) the Gorge, with the CD explaining what you see as you see it. The view from the gorge's bottom up towards the bridge was breathtaking, and worth the drive.

GORGEOUS view of the bridge and the New River Gorge if you go down to the overlook. A small "hike" with about 200 stairs. Don't forget your camera!

We were driving south and saw the visitors center so we stopped. There is a wooden walkway with some really neat views of the bridge, it's worth the stop if you are in the area. I would not go out of my way to see but its a neat thing to see.

The only time you can walk on the bridge. Look over to the colorful canyon below. You will see a bountiful array of color. Get there early and watch the fog raised. You have B.A.S.E. jumpers and repellers going over the bridge. Zip line. Bridge walk and array of vendors, some with the best grilled corn on the cob ever made. Visit the web side or down the app.
