The log cabin was reached by a 1/2 mile gravel road thru the woods. It was very nice looking with a wonderful deck on 3 sides of the house. Inside there were wide plank floors and lovely knotty pine walls throughout. The three bedrooms and two baths were nice with each bedroom having their own heat source. The main room area had a big screen TV over the gas fireplace. The TV faced the substantial dining table and the adjacent bar height table. Two recliners and a sofa completed the area. I think it would have been nice if the TV faced the sofa area more.
We found the cabin very enjoyable except for us the kitchen was too small. It is like a small galley kitchen. We came for Thanksgiving with lots of food and specialty kitchenware. There was really no place to put all of the stuff we brought and two people preparing food was a bit tight. But we did manage!
The surrounding area is all woods without any other homes in site. We weren't lucky enough to see any wildlife but were told there was a bear in the area and that a mountain lion had been seen.
I think the cabin would be especially great in nice weather when one could use the deck. There was a hot tub and 2 separate sets of tables and chairs. For people who don't plan a lot of specialty cooking, it would be fine.
Gina, the owner let us bring our 2 dogs and they enjoyed the woods!
