“Relaxing”

The location of this cabin is both about a 30 minute drive to the town of Berkeley Springs and the town of Martinsburg. Fox Hollow is a beautiful property, it is more outdated than a few other properties we have stayed in, but it served its purpose. Whoever owns this cottage has made sure to have little extras in there. There were spice jars, coffee, tea, and cleaning supplies. We really didn't do much cooking but it is nice to know that stuff was available. The enclosed porch could easily be my favorite spot. The hot tub is enclosed there so we could enjoy it in the rain. There were a lot of bird feeders there and would love to go back in the spring to see them all. This cabin is surrounded by other houses/ cabins.

“Some very nice features, but outdated”
Reviewed 16 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We stayed here for 3 nights in June 2016, with 3 adults and 3 children (7, 5 and 2). The house has enough rooms, but the square footage is small.. We had a very nice experience. I want to say that upfront, since we also have some negative things to say. The house is in a lovely wooded area, and the hot tub on the screened in porch is wonderful. The place was clean, with p lenty of towels.
On the negative side, this house is very outdated. All the appliances and laminate counters and floors are showing their age, as is the furniture. There is no way the table could work for 6 people. Kitchen area only has room for one person. Pots, dishes, etc., are haphazard. There were plenty of some things, none of other things, and there was no organization.i There was a hassle in getting the passes needed to use The Woods facilities (pools). The windows are not meant to open, and there are no screens. Indoor fireplace is closed during the summer (understandable), but outdoor firerrings are prohibited. So, no s'mores.
Bottom line: the location is very pretty, and there was all that you needed, although everything is outdated, and the kitchen stuff is a puzzle to find. It might just be us, but we wanted a place to roast marshmallows, and there were no campfires allowed in this particular r ental, although we could see no reason for this, as they were allowed in other nearby properties. I can't say whether I could recommend this to others.. There are some very good things, and some not so good features.

Thank you for the review. We're glad you enjoyed your stay despite the negatives. All of the cabins we manage are privately owned, but we strive to make sure they're very well cleaned and maintained. We have recently replaced many of the kitchen items at this cabin (cookware, utensils, etc.). Your feedback is very much appreciated, it helps us and the homeowner make the cabins more comfortable and accommodating for future guests. Many of the houses we manage have outdoor camp fire rings. There are several communities where outdoor fires are prohibited. The Woods Resort (where this cabin is located) is one of those communities. Our office staff is extremely helpful. If you choose to book with us in the future, let us know exactly what you're looking for and we'll be glad to find a cabin or cottage that will work best for you.

Thanks again for your business and feedback.
