Stayed at Hazelnut cottage with my fiancee for 3 nights. Loved how cozy and peaceful this place is. If you love peace and quiet in a natural surrounding, you won't regret staying here. The open fire were an added bonus.
Don't know where to start our review of this truly amazing find set in most delightful surroundings.
We had originally booked Hazelnut for just the two of us, but a couple of days beforehand our friends decided to join us and the family kindly allowed us to transfer our booking to Cobnut.
First impression of the layout and quality of our cottage was sheer delight. Wonderful views from the window, fresh flowers on the mantelpiece and the fire just waiting for a match. We could not fault this fabulous accommodation in any way. Everything had been provided even down to a small night light in the bedroom! The beds were huge and extremely comfortable - we could have stayed another week!?
Not only was the cottage beautifully furnished the view from the window was fairly hard to beat, sheep grazing, pheasants, geese and rabbits and much to our delight a kingfisher.
Would definitely return to Heath Farm - thank you Barbour family.
We stayed in Hazelnut Cottage for 4 nights and loved it.
The peace and quiet, open fire and clean and pleasant cottage made for a fantastic base. Free firewood meant we kept cosy no matter what the weather threw at us.
Step out and you have acres of walks to explore or get in your car and in minutes you've a choice of pubs and villages to visit.
The quality of the construction and joinery detailing of these cottages within the natural peaceful surroundings is simply excellent.
Every detail has evidently been thought about down to the cutlery in the kitchen, the comfortable furniture, the welcome provisions to get you started on your holiday and the beautiful peace.
We occupied the "Cobnut" which had wonderful views of the valley, the pond and the wildlife. We saw a Jay and the Red Pike for the first time, wonderful to watch. Remember to bring your binoculars and walking shoes!
Local places to visit and local pubs follow the same well thought through quality theme.
Our Immediate reaction was the need to visit again soon.... which says it all!
A week in the Cotswolds, is what we wanted. My wife and our daughter with her two sons came with us. Mid week, our other daughter came to visit with her two daughters. How wonderful it was for them to run free without worrying about any dangers. All footpaths are mown and very safe. These cottages are a real find, even though there are 5 cottages plus the owners, you will only have a few people around at any one time. The farm has been transformed into a walkers paradise for trees, plants, butterflies, buzzards even soaring high in the sky, you will see one in a picture later. 70 acres. If you can read the info in the picture of Walnut Cottage, you will have more info. Plenty of space, never had so much, you feel like you're the only people around. The grounds are exceptionally well maintained. The owners very very friendly and helpful. Our time was spent just relaxing, walking, playing and just chilling out. Can't find any criticism at all. If you just want peace and tranquility, then book in, you will not be disappointed. Thank you Heath Farm.
My wife and I, together with my in laws have just returned from 4 fantastic day stay in Cobnut House.
Like previous reviews have said this is a quant collection of converted farm buildings that are now places to stay. The Farm is situated approx 10 mins from Banbury and can be found by the two white stones at the entrance.
The accommadation is around the back of the farms house and Cobnut over looks the fields behind and s great for seeing the sun set in the evening.
The interior is well equip and is very well done and good quality too. Some of the most popular villages are close by and easily reached within 25mins...Stow on the Wold and Bourton on the Water(Little Venice).
We would certainly recommend anyone to stay here.
When we arrived rooms were perfectly clean and the logs in the hearth already arranged. If we needed more wood, we could just get some around the corner. The farm lies directly off the road at the edge of a hill. It is an old farm complex that has been converted to separate rooms all with their own identity. We were in 'walnut' with a very high ceiling, large bathroom and two large bedrooms in the attic. A separate kitchen which came really amply equipped, including coffee and salt. Because it was all panelled we had a really medieval feel when staying there. Every morning the sun shone in through the great window, giving great views of the surrounding hill. Our hosts were friendly and the place immaculately clean. One of the best houses we've ever been in (and we've been to a few!). Farm grounds are good for an evening stroll and the kids enjoyed the trampoline. Some good country pubs are close by. Oxford is 30 min by car. Chipping Norton 10 min. We recommend also seeing Great Tew which is around the corner.
