Picked this hotel based on Trip Advisor ratings. Not sure this should be the #1 hotel in Morgantown. Hard to find property and it was on a small dark side street. An Adjoining garage with free parking was a nice touch.
Checked in late evening and confronted a chemical smell in lobby and elevator. Always suspicious as to what is being covered up.
Room was a decent size but missing the ironing board. The bathroom was made for hobbits. Sink was so low you got a backache brushing your teeth. Lighting was poor. Needed more lamps or brighter bulbs.
The "Continental Breakfast" was the worst I've seen at any hotel offering a free breakfast in the rate. A few bagels, a couple of thermos bottles of lukewarm coffee and that was about it. Even the coffee cup lids did not fit the cups.
For the money, I 'm sure that the several chain hotels in town would have provided equivalent value for money, if not a better overall experience. This will be the first and last time we try this property.

My wife and I stayed in this new hotel for one night before some medical procedures at Ruby. It was the highest rated hotel with one of the lower prices. It is a downtown hotel and the parking, though free, was a little hard to figure out. The front desk folks were super. We had a king standard room which was huge. The bathroom was absolutely beautiful with an unusual sink and wonderful shower. The breakfast was enough for me but had few choices. We were a little uncomfortable but couldn't say why. The bed was memory foam which was another plus. There was not microwave, coffee-maker in the room which is standard at every hotel that we have ever stayed in. This hotel is new and it was well worth the money.

Room Tip: All of the rooms were unique, so it will vary room to room

The breakfast they provided was limited- no fresh fruit (not even bananas), no yogurt. There was no Decaf coffee available. "Looks like we ran out", was all they could say. I asked if there would be any for the next day, "I am not sure" was the reply. Despite staying three nights, each morning I asked and each morning they told me they were all out. Sort of weird for a full-service hotel to miss such a basic detail and have no desire to make it right.

The room was large but really empty feeling. The bed was comfortable though.

It seems too like they may have had a shortage of shampoo as well as coffee. They did not replenish, and the last day we had none.

They advertise a fitness center, but they do not have one.

I am from London and a regular hotel stayer. This new Hotel must succeed and is a credit to Morgantown.

- SUPERB ROOMS: huge amounts of space and comfort - the beds are amazing!
- EASY PARKING: secure indoor car park
- GREAT LOCATION: quiet yet central
- MAGNIFICANT STAFF: friendly, efficient, helpful and "with a brain"
- INCREDIBLE VALUE: I was amazed at the price and that they are no more than an ordinary chain - this is bound to change and probably should

My advce to anyone staying in Morgantown is stay here - and if you have a few options and are considering staying locally, Morgantown is a great town with a nice atmosphere, and the Chestnut Hotel is the place to stay if you are here.

Room Tip: I am sure all the rooms are good - as the hotel is purpose built and the ethos of service and comfor...

Mom has cancer so we are in Morgantown every 6 months for follow up at Mary Babb Randolph. All is going well, and staying here made this trip so much more enjoyable than other places we have stayed in town. Everyone we met was pleasant and helpful. The room was spacious but still had a cozy feel. It is so convenient to the healthcare campus (maybe a 7-10 minute drive with traffic), we will be staying here again. Thank you for a nice, pleasant stay.

We stayed at the Chestnut Boutique for only one night for a mini-getaway and date-night. The hotel is spectacular. The decor is splendid, and though very modern, is warm and welcoming. This is true both in the common spaces (lobby, hallways, etc.) and the rooms. The beds were beckoningly comfortable with the softest sheets and blankets and pillows that, unlike most hotels, were fluffy and comforting, not broken down. The place was immaculately clean (and, as a former hotel housekeeper at a swanky chain hotel, my standards are impeccably high) and well-stocked. What's more, having the Big Whiskey restaurant, bar, and dance hall practically attached to the hotel made our evening out really fun. The Rock Top bar and grill on the roof was unfortunately closed during our stay, but we're planning another quick trip in the summer so we can experience that as well.

We've stayed in a lot of hotels in the Morgantown area, and this is far and away our all-time choice from now on. You won't be disappointed with this!

Room Tip: We choose the Deluxe queen with the Jacuzzi tub, and it was totally worth the extra money. The view...
