You walk into the cavernous registration lobby with overstuffed furniture and a fireplace; however, the undecorated antiseptic white walls make for more of a hospital atmosphere. No one sits in the big lobby even with the fire in the fireplace. Lobby does not invite a "sit-down." It is over lit, and echos. Upside: The rooms in the newer section near the front desk registration are larger than most hotel rooms. But again, the white boring walls. Small TV. View of parking lot. Beds are 4-star comfort as is room cleanliness, aside from that typical low standard synthetic bed cover. Creative decor is absent throughout lodge. Restaurant offers good food, slightly overpriced. Wait staff is quick and friendly. Lovely display of quality Carnival Glass in dining area. Enjoyed the antique rifle display. The worst part of our lodge stay: The neglect of the Nature Center located on the premises, lower level. Snake vivariums filled with feces, snakes raise and lower their heads struggling for the mental challenge of a stimulating log to climb. Turtles swim in stagnant green water in an under sized tank. Their is a difference between living and thriving. Not sure we will return to this WV lodge. Though clean and fairly priced, Twin Falls does not offer the warm and cozy feel of the grand old lodge and we felt empty when we left.
