My wife and I spent MLK weekend skiing here with friends. We stayed in a room with a kitchenette and 2 bedrooms (2 connecting hotel rooms). The kitchenette had everything we wanted. It had a dishwasher, an American-size refrigerator, 4-burner ceramic-top stove, a tucked-away washer/dryer set, and all of the utensils we needed. We did bring a crock pot for our lunch time meal. The hot water heater did not accommodate 6 separate showers after skiing.
The lodge itself cried out for a serious renovation: from the accordion gate separating the lobby check-in from the larger common area to the paintings on the wall to the VCR tapes below the CRT television in the room (there was no VCR, only a disconnected DVD player).
The skiing is perhaps the best in the mid-Atlantic region, but with Pittsburgh and DC within 5 driving hours, the lines on weekends can be long in the main resort. We chose the Silver Creek Lodge knowing that the lines would be shorter in this area of the resort.More
