Such a great property, even maintenance is wonderful. Large spacious condos easy to get to the slopes.

My children disagree, but after a 6 hour drive, disappointed to have to put the previous renters dishes from dishwasher in the cabinet and additionally disappointed to find a fry pan dirty..food in it, not greasy, really dirty in the kitchen drawer. Also dirty glasses in the cabinet and empty beer cans on the deck. I must be crazy to be surprised?

Also pillows with pillowcases to small...a lot of money to pay for this total lack of attention to detail.

House keeping told me they were just too busy,

Maybe my last trip.

4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 February 2010

This was first trip to snowshoe for skiing. We have mainly skied out west, mainly colorado. To save money on airfare we decided to go to snowshoe.
I was nervous after I booked the 2 bedroom condo without reading any reviews here and the price seemed steep. I knew they were older condos, you never know what you will get. We were pleasantly suprised!

The units have a bavarian old world style. We had 2 bed, 2 bath, one bath had a jacuzzi tub. We had a nice, large kitchen with washer and dryer. We took all our food and didn't eat at any of the restaurants. We were in a ground floor unit and had a nice woodburning fireplace with a stone hearth. The unit was clean and appeared recently redecorated. It was a true ski in and out. We had so much snow it was a challenge to get over the snow bank to ski! One of the nicest features was the locked entryway/mudroom for our ski storage and firewood. I was shocked at how large the wood supply was. There was a balcony but we didn't use it because it had 3 feet of snow on it! Each room had a tv, only missed not having a dvd player in the den. There was wireless internet. Compared to other units in snowshoe, I thought the rate $530 a night on a holiday weekend was steep but fair. Having a washer and dryer and ski in/out was worth it, and the unit was large, ?1500 sq feet maybe. It was quiet, perfect for families. I had heard the condos in the village were noisy and small . There isn't a hot tub at the condo, but we had complimentary use of the split rock pools, a short drive/shuttle ride away. My 9 and 13 yr old loved the pools. We swam every night we were there, enjoyed sitting in the hot tub in the snow while our hair and eyebrows froze!

We skied 2 days, mainly on green runs, some blue. Compared to the ski resorts we have skied in Colorado the runs weren't as long, but the snow quality was comparable to steamboat. The drive up took 8 hours from knoxville, 1 1/2 hours after the interstate exit. The drive home down the mountain in the snow storm took 3 long hours. I was really glad I had rented a 4 wheel drive. Saw one large suv wrecked. Overall, we would go again if we couldn't get out to Steamboat!
