I've been performing at the Purple Fiddle as a touring musician for several years now. It is a truly unique and wonderful place. While music is a central feature of the Fiddle, it also serves as a local cultural hub and seems to be at the forefront of the Thomas revival. Thomas was historically a coal town, but now it has become a bit of a Mecca for artists. Each time I've been there I've met people from throughout the North East and have had some wonderful conversations. I brought my young family on the road with me for the first time last year, and this was the venue they enjoyed most on the whole tour. It is centrally located to skiing, hiking, kayaking and general site seeing.
