“A rare musical and cultural gem”
Review of Purple Fiddle

I've been performing at the Purple Fiddle as a touring musician for several years now. It is a truly unique and wonderful place. While music is a central feature of the Fiddle, it also serves as a local cultural hub and seems to be at the forefront of the Thomas revival. Thomas was historically a coal town, but now it has become a bit of a Mecca for artists. Each time I've been there I've met people from throughout the North East and have had some wonderful conversations. I brought my young family on the road with me for the first time last year, and this was the venue they enjoyed most on the whole tour. It is centrally located to skiing, hiking, kayaking and general site seeing.

They had a travelling band give a concert there. The venue is perfect for this type of thing. We were 8 feet from the stage, beer selection was outstanding and dancing ensued on the small dance floor. Great time!

We have been there a few times and food is definitely not the draw. There's often live music but the food is very average.

We have visited many times over the years and have always had a great time! Really nice, intimate setting to see some fabulous musicians up close. A few beers on tap and a pretty extensive bottle/can list. Also have wine and liquor if I recall. Food is good. They have ice cream too! Make sure to get tix ahead of time if there is someone you’re really interested in seeing because this place often sells out in advance.

The purple fiddle is generally a fun stop. They have good sandwiches and wraps and ice cream. I have been for lunch in the past while there was live music - and the guy was really great.
There is a fun outdoor patio (though be ware of the bees).
