We stayed for 3 nights in room 91, the room is adequate but a bit 'tired' with shabby towels, broken casing on heating control and a very worn out chair. There was also a double light outside our window which was angled into our room. None of that mattered too much, the problem was that the room was like an oven, it was stale and totally airless. The window was restricted to only open a fraction at the bottom so it was impossible to get any fresh air into the room. There was no air con, just a fan which was useless, it hardly made any difference at all. After the first night we complained and asked to have a different room. The two women on reception were very unhelpful, they said that nothing could be done and one of them advised us not to sleep under the duvet! Of course we hadn't slept under the duvet!! We had attempted to sleep without the duvet but the heat made it impossible to sleep at all. The more aggressive of the two women asked how we thought her staff felt having to work in this temperature. She also told us that it was even worse on the middle floor (our room was on the top floor). We would have left in disgust at that point, but as this was a business trip we had to complete the work. The heat in the room made me vomit and it triggered asthma problems. A formal complaint will be going to Premier Inn!
The Beefeater restaurant was very good, the food was nice, the staff were friendly and it was relatively cool in comparison to our rooms.
