We stayed at the Balsam Lake Motel because of its location to our visit for three nights. The place was clean and the beds were comfortable. The blinds on the windows were in need of replacement on several units. The drawers on the bureau were broken and I had to go to a Walmart in a neighboring town to get a shower head for the shower. The first night there may have been three or four units rented and we were all placed next to each other. I guessing that there were at least 16 units available. I figured that they did this for maid service. We could hear our neighbors TV and shower and there was a lot of noise with doors banging and someone left at 1:30 a.m. Whether this was planned or not, I don't know.
We left at 9:30 a.m. for the day and returned at 4:00 to find that our room had not been touched and towels were still in the bathroom on the floor and the beds had not been made. We went to the office for fresh towels and made our own beds. There was nothing said at the time of registration about the lack of maid service or was it listed on the website.
So, if you want to save some money, remember, you really get what you pay for.
