“It just does not get any better or more authentic”

Visited la Fuente last May for my Mom's 80th and Mother's Day. What a lovely discovery!

Came back from England for Christmas and then again in late-March. If anything, it has got better. For someone who seeks out Mexican-Southwestern all over the world, this is definitely the best. The staff are just as authentic as the food - they make everything from scratch, from the hand-made tortillas to the salsa, beans and everything.

I judge a Mexican restaurant on its chilli rellenos and this is, after 40 years of taste testing, the best. The tacos patron (pulled pork) were delicious. The guacamole is almost a meal in itself. The chips are fresh and the salsa is made made on the spot. They pride themselves on their handmade corn tortillas - and they should be proud - fantastic!

Everything is homemade. The place is packed at dinner and lunch, which is great, and they really work hard at it.

It does not get better than this and the staff are just the friendliest, most accommodating, hard working you'll find.

Took my mom to La Fuente for her birthday (which was also mother's day!) and what a wonderful surprise. That brought out fresh salsa and homemade corn tortilla chips. In fact all their tortillas are homemade and it was hard to find anything that came out of a can or a jar. It's been years since I've had homemade corn tortillas and those were in a friend's house.

I judge a Southwestern Mexican restaurant by their chiles rellenos - and La Fuente's melted in my mouth - not overstuffed frozen poblano chiles, but, fresh, lightly stuffed with quesa, gently fried to melt the cheese and bring out the sweetness of the chiles. My mom had enchiladas that were also mouth watering. We came back the next day for more!

The place was friendly and very "real". Very friendly service and the place was bright and light - a real pleasure to eat there.

We will be back and we highly recommend this addition to Beloit's already good, lively Mexican food scene.
