We decided to head down to the Pod Pairc as we had heard great things about it online and from friends. It was my first time staying in a Pod so I was looking forward to the experience. After a lovely drive through the windy roads of west cork we arrived in the evening to be greeted by David and Elizabeth. It was great to meet them both on their own land and they showed us around. The location is beautiful being a close drive to Drimoleague village while at the same time being remote and quiet. They have ducks, chickens, sheep and cows on site as well as a beautiful dog named Daisy. They have on site showers and bathrooms as well as a games room, laundry and kitchen. There were many families there when we stayed and you can see as it is ideal as well as for couples or singles who need some relaxation. The pods them self are beautiful and very well insulated and cosy. Nice and minimalistic with little distractions so you can relax. I will definitely be returning to stay again.

We had the most fantastic time in this pod park. My friend and I plus our children shared a delightful day and night in top of the rock. We foolishly took everything with us bar the kitchen sink, everthing is there for you to enjoy your stay so all you really need is your sleeping bag and a bite to eat. We even had freshly baked scones in the morning. Stunning walks surround the park and beautiful views. Will def be going back.

My wife and I and our teenage son spent a weekend at the pod pairc recently. From the moment we arrived we were well looked after by David and his family. The pod was comfortable and warm, all facilites are of a high standard and what a setting. Overall a great experience.

We recently spent afew fabulous days and nights at the Pod Pairc at Top of the Rock. A fantastic break away with the kids (2 years old and 3 years old) and we couldn't recommend it more highly to anyone considering a stay.

The place is SO safe. The whole site is fully fenced in and field areas have chickenwire/net fencing along the fences so the little ones cant do a runner. The gate is kept closed so there is no way out on to the road. With two speedy toddlers, this was a HUGE bonus and load off.

We stayed in a family pod called Wildfruits. These pods are larger than the standard pod and are equipped with three fold up beds (you can get additional mattresses if you need) We pushed the two beds together (worked fantastically and VERY comfortable) and swapped the third bed for a childs mattress so that we could have more room for our travel cot. Perfect amount of space for us all. :) The pods are heated and have lighting and plug sockets if you need them. Super!

The facilities are AMAZING.
The showers are huge, piping hot and run on a timer system (€1=5mins). Bathrooms large, very clean and well stocked.
Kitchen is VERY well equipped. You get your own cupboard filled with ware and cutlery for your stay. It has a little lock so that you can store your foodstuffs securely if you wish. Two cookers (one gas, one electric) ovens, sinks, kettles, Pots& pans, fridge & freezer and table & chairs. Upstairs there is a huge dining area so if someone else is cooking you can eat up there. Our lads had us up at the crack of dawn every day wanting to go see the animals so we never had company in the kitchen. LOL.

There is a Gamesroom off the kitchen with a pool table and table tennis table and off that is a laundry and drying room. (we didn't need to use any of these during our stay)

There is a lovely fenced in section where the chickens and ducks wander or swim in their pond if they aren't snoozing in their 5 star stone luxury coop. Our lads loved watching them all while they played in the swing or slid down the slide in the lovely play area.

There is also a fab campfire area which David lit for us on our last night. It was lovely sitting around with our boys roasting marshmallows before bed.

For most people in todays day and age, forking out for holidays is a rare (if not impossible) thing. It's easily forgotten that we live in such a beautiful country and all of it within reasonable driving distance. Places like the Pod Pairc make holidays possible for everyone and anyone to have an amazing trip.

Whether you are a walking group, a couple, a family or even a stressed out writer looking to get a bit of peace and quiet and inspiration to write, Top of the Rock has something for you.

Room Tip: All of the pods are gorgeous and perfectly positioned. Check out the luxury, family or standard pod...

I visited "Top of the Rock" pod park recently with a group of friends. I was most impressed by the beautiful facilities and accommodation set in the most tranquil of places. One arrives to rolling hills all around particularly evident when relaxing up stairs in the walking centre. The common areas are spotlessly clean with attention to detail in all areas.

We were a group of about 30 ranging in ages and I feel "Top of the Rock" catered for all, from the children's play area to snooker and table tennis to the quaint outdoor fire at night. We enjoyed a great time of singing around the camp fire on both nights.

David, Elizabeth and all the family were excellent hosts providing any information required.

All in all an excellent destination if you want to escape busy life for a while and experience the beauty this country has to offer. I for one plan to make many return visits.

Just back from a great weekend spent in the pod park. We had a basic pod with 5 of us staying. I can recommend it highly enough. Great fun, a couple of cute farm animals lounging around nearby gives a lovely farm feel to the place. We spent the Saturday walking the nearby mountain behind Castledonovan. Great views, Lovely walk, Great facilities. All you need to bring is a pillow and sleeping bag. Hairdrier available in the ladies along with good shower, bathroom & kitchen facilities. David, his wife and family were very welcoming and accomodating and lovely to see a family working together. Will definately go back and maybe upgrade to see how the other half live in the Luxury Pods :)
