“Our favorite B&B!”
Reviewed 24 February 2014

We are repeat customers to Prevailing Winds Lodge and we will keep coming back! We've been in the summer and now the winter-it's lovely for all seasons! Steve & Jen always make us feel right "at home". It is such a cozy, rustic lodge-yet elegant too. The food is fantastic! We are outdoors people-so being close to Blue Mounds state park is great-in the summer for hiking and biking and in the winter for x-country skiing or snow shoeing. This B & B has become our favorite & we'd highly recommend it!

Room Tip: Room on main floor has a king bed and a whirlpool tub :)

I have to be honest that all 5 Stars that we are giving are well deserved. From the ambiance and quality of the home to the service and attention to details by the owners, our expectations were exceeded across the board. We enjoyed our stay immensely. We will be back and we will let all of our friends know about this lodge.

The scenery along the driveway told us how relaxing the stay was going to be. Upon arrival we were greeted by Steve that had warm homemade cookies and infused water waiting for us. We instantly felt at home after a quick tour of the lodge and all it had to offer. We stayed during the winter so we hung out around the lodge most of the time. I was hoping for more snow to go snowshoeing. The property looked amazing. My husband and I went to Blue Mounds for fish at Hooterville Inn which is always good. We hung out with Steve and Wyatt, who was a delight to play with. We stayed in the Mountain Pine Room that had homemade peanut butter chocolate covered truffles for us to enjoy. You melt in the bed! The soaking tub was fantastic too! The breakfast was to die for including really good coffee and tea to make at our leisure. Jen, Steve, and Wyatt were extremely nice and easy to talk to that love what they do and put those extra touches in throughout your stay. We are looking forward to going back!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Mountain Pine Room which had it's own bath with a great soaking tub. There are...

Such an amazing B&B! My husband and I were looking for a quiet, peaceful and relaxing getaway for a bit of much needed R&R. We wanted to take in the fall folliage of beautiful Wisconsin and experience something new. When we arrived we were just amazed at the beautiful surroundings and the "quiet" we found. We arrived on a Wednesday and we were able to have the B&B all to ourselves. Steve and Jen were such great hosts and we felt like we were home...and by the end of the week, we didn't want to leave our "oasis" in southern Wisconsin. We were spoiled by the richness of the food and the hospitality. Steve is such a great cook and his breakfasts are wonderful! We just loved his homemade cranberry white chocolate scones among all the other delicious breakfast delights! I don't want to giveaway anything else, because the special surprises really add to your experience.

We were able to do a bit of sight seeing to some near-by locations and than get in a few hours daily having our relaxing "Hammock" time under the two oak trees. We laughed so much and we really took in the whole experience. One of which was having pizza and wine up in the field watching the sunset...and doing a bit of star gazing ~ just an incredible sight to see!

If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway close to home or not, this is the "Oasis" to make sure to visit. Thank you Jen, Steve and Lil' Wyatt for making our stay so enjoyable. See you soon!

My husband and I stayed at this fabulous log lodge Bed and Breakfast for 2 nights based on it's charm and appeal. What we got was a whole lot more! The rooms were luxutious with exuisite bedding that made you feel like you were floating on a cloud! Breakfast both mornings were sinfully mouth watering andbthe wjite chocolate scone was heavenly. The atmisphere was so totally relaxing, we fell asleep on the couch in front of the fire. There are 44 acres to explore and several trails but due to cold and jigh winds we didn't go out. We definitely will be back again..soon.Like one of my other reviews, to hold onto this little gem of a secret wouldn't be fair...more people need to experience the hospitality, awesome ambience, and totally wonderful food. Thanks so muvh to Jen and Steve...we will be back again!

Room Tip: They are all beautiful

We booked a weekend with a group of friends, and we were thrilled with every aspect of our stay. The landscape, accommodations and service couldn't have been better. I can't imagine a blood pressure medication more effective than PWL.
