In Waukesha for work with a colleague at one of our American Head Offices and we were invited to a department outing at Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant.

Arrived slightly early and had to wait a few minutes at the bar with some wine before the table was ready.

It seemed very busy for a Wednesday Evening but then more people tend to eat out in the US than the UK ! The atmosphere was great and there was a huge mix of customers - families, couples, large groups (like us) - there was even some sort of medical presentation going in an adjoining event room !

The service was good, with the Waiter taking us through the best options for starters/appetizers for our large group - we plumped for some sampler plates which were great.

The wine was good but the device used to serve it was a bit over the top - a decanter on a stand with a glycerin filled glass sphere to cool the wine to the ideal serving temperature - it did aerate the wine which was good. Once in the glass it was a very good Pinot Noir.

I chose the Scallops, which were really good - there were a good number and they were huge!

Not sure of the final bill as the Senior Director was paying - my scallops were $26 and were towards the top end of the price range.

The shop in the entrance also had a large range of wines as well as wine serving paraphernalia and was very popular.

This was our second visit and once again we were very pleased with the food and the service. Our server, Tiffani, made us feel welcome and got our order, for five people, exactly as it should have been even though we had some special requests. The wait for our food was minimal even though it was lunch time. We all had different foods from chicken to steak. Out plates were empty at the end, which tells you just how good it was! Prices are where they should be for this level of food offerings and service. We would highly recommend this any time you visit the Brookfield area.

My husband and I visited Coopers Hawk Winery a week ago and had a great wine tasting experience! We ended up even joining their wine club! It is a very cozy place and although we didn't get a chance to dine at the restaurant it smelled fabulous!! Cant wait to go back!!

The front was a bit chaotic when I first got there (5:30/6pm on a weeknight), but I quickly found the hostesses and was directed to the bar.

Pros:
Great & attentive service
Love the wine suggestions and ability to sample them - went with a wine I wouldn't have ordered just by looking at the menu
Portion sizes are large

Cons:
$15 for a salad using mostly iceberg lettuce and maybe 1.5oz of chicken seems a bit high
No Happy Hour specials?

Had a dinner here it was very good. Short rib risotto . Also the barrel reserve Wine house specialty was great. Prices on bottles of wine were very reasonable. Lots of menu items looked fantastic. Only thing stopping from a 5 star was slow service at the end but it was also very busy. Some good wine knickknacks in the store were a nice touch
