In Waukesha for work with a colleague at one of our American Head Offices and we were invited to a department outing at Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant.
Arrived slightly early and had to wait a few minutes at the bar with some wine before the table was ready.
It seemed very busy for a Wednesday Evening but then more people tend to eat out in the US than the UK ! The atmosphere was great and there was a huge mix of customers - families, couples, large groups (like us) - there was even some sort of medical presentation going in an adjoining event room !
The service was good, with the Waiter taking us through the best options for starters/appetizers for our large group - we plumped for some sampler plates which were great.
The wine was good but the device used to serve it was a bit over the top - a decanter on a stand with a glycerin filled glass sphere to cool the wine to the ideal serving temperature - it did aerate the wine which was good. Once in the glass it was a very good Pinot Noir.
I chose the Scallops, which were really good - there were a good number and they were huge!
Not sure of the final bill as the Senior Director was paying - my scallops were $26 and were towards the top end of the price range.
The shop in the entrance also had a large range of wines as well as wine serving paraphernalia and was very popular.
